You see the drawer already slightly open, perhaps that being what set off the magic thing. You contemplate trying to get a closer look, but the top of the dresser seems like four stories up from your perspective, and you're not quite used to the idea of cat-jumping or being tiny. Instead, you opt to go back to the couch and take another practice jump. Holy hell, it's like having rockets for legs! You overshoot and slam into the back cushion, though the impact is a lot softer than it seems like it ought to be. But, being unharmed, you settle back into your former comfortable position.

Well, at least you're sure that the cops are gone by now, but now what? Will Greg be back soon, as they said? Or is he in trouble? And this itchiness is really starting to get to you, and all this weird new information coming in through your nose. And the possibility of more dangerous magic that Greg might have left just lying around this place. What kind of weird bullshit have you stumbled into?

Look around the room.
With nothing much else to do, you decide to study the room in greater detail. Aside from the table before the couch, there are a few even more cluttered tables, next to which rest similarly cluttered chairs. Many of these have various articles of clothing draped over them. The floor is wood, aside from the linoleum where the space merges into the kitchen, and across from that is a flagstone in front of a decently-sized stone fireplace. The colors look kind of wrong: you're pretty sure that shirt was green, and that notebook was red, but now they kind of look like different shades of the same thing. You notice the pendant still sitting on the table in front of the couch, though you're not sure how useful that might be.

You get the feeling that you really need a plan.

(How would you guys feel about a perspective switch in the near future?)
(What I'm looking for right now is a plan, though. Or a metagame I guess. Stay here and wait for Greg? Strike out on your own? Scrounge things up in this cabin? Etc.)

(I've basically got no idea right now. Waiting for Greg seems like the safest option, maybe explore the cabin a bit in the meantime?)

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Yeah exploring the Cabin sounds like the best idea so +1.

You wait, not quite knowing how long. Time seems to pass more slowly as a cat. Or maybe that's just the weirdness and the stress of today. But you grow restless, and Gregor hasn't returned yet. It probably hasn't been nearly long enough you figure, but you feel like you've got to do something. So, you decide to look around the cabin some more, though being tiny and not having hands doesn't help with that. First of all, you take another look around the bedroom. Not yet courageous enough for the 4-storey climb up to the dresser (from which the rune has now completely faded), you instead discover some presumably locked trunks underneath the immaculate bed. On of which seems to have a glyph on it that looks similar to that which was on the dresser, but is glowing some color you've never seen before. It gives you a weird sensation in your face: you think your whiskers are twitching. Maybe it hasn't been triggered yet?

In the bathroom you don't find much, the place being barely large enough for the toilet, sink, and shower (and after staying in there for a couple minutes, the smell of the various hygienic products becomes rather too much for your nose.) You note, on the way out, a wooden clock on the wall, of the kind sold by one of the vendors back in the little town (it being that kind of mountain village that relies in no small part on passers-through buying handicrafts and souvenirs). Some lady... the neighbor of the person you were staying with, you think. Huh. Well, if the clock's accurate, then it's some time around 9 PM.

Next, you head to the kitchen. There is a faint odor of beans... gravy... all kinds of canned food, probably. You can't get them open, but knowing Gregor, you figure the cupboards are probably full of canned food. Though maybe a wizard has other ways of getting something to eat? Not much more of interest presents itself in the open, though you're quite honestly surprised at how he seems to keep on top of the dishes. But then again, maybe he doesn't use them much, or can magic them clean.

Three more hours pass (judging by the bathroom clock). You quickly exhaust space to search (the drawer turns out to contain only several pairs of heavy socks), and begin nervously pacing around, occasionally prodding at bits of laundry. You're not sure how much more waiting you can take, and on top of it all the itching is really starting to drive you crazy.

Find a window to look out of.

There are plenty of windows: one in the bedroom, two in the bathroom (both high-up and glazed), and three in this living-kitchenroom space. All of which (aside from the bathroom ones) seem to have light curtains drawn over them, but are easily accessible by climbing up the clutter. You peer out the window from which you first tried to peep in. After a few seconds, your eyes adjust and you find you can see further into the darkness than before, though visibility's still not great, what with the continued drizzle and clouded night sky.

Look around for anything weird.
What've you been doing for the past 3 hours? This whole cabin is kind of weird...

Scratch.
You've had enough. You try getting out the claws, which feels like unclenching your fist when you didn't even know you were making a fist, but they turn out not to be very effective for this. You can't seem to reach all over yourself either, especially not your back. God damnit. At this point you feel like jumping into a tub of ice water. Or setting yourself on fire.

Try on the pendant.
But it's best to try to focus, you decide. Maybe the pendant will be of more help? It's about the size of your hand (or whatever) now, and much heavier than you remember, but eventually you figure out of how to put it on by rolling around to loop your head through the string.

You see an owl in the hollow of a tree, huddled against the rain.

A blurry vision of someone washing their face...their eyes...from a dingy sink. You hear, indistinctly, two familiar voices.

The fireplace... in the back... it looks like there's a chute for removing ashes.

You see the cabin from above, encircled by something invisible, yet shown here glowing that strange color you saw under the bed.

((I meant look outside through the window for anything weird.))

Take off the pendent and try to take a nap.
