Neoclassical is kind of a Johnny-one-note genre, and Yngwie plays that one note as well as anyone, but there are Prog Metal bands that use a lot of phrygian and minor for a neoclassical sound without specifically limiting themselves to it.

Opeth is probably the best of the "neoclassical-plus" genre.

I'm not a big fan of Opeth because most of their songs feature a distinctly unpleasant nails-on-a-chalkboard vocal growl that grates on my nerves, but when their vocalist sings instead of growls Opeth makes some decent metal.

Most of the fun comes from watching the video, but it's a pretty decent song as well.  Oddball, but enjoyable.  I suppose one could say that of most of their songs.
