I have no idea if this is from the anime, but it looks like it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=did2nTne_VU
is this modern?

Horribly. (Note I am talking about the anime featured in the video and the song itself) It makes my heart bleed by seeing how watered down and stupid anime is now. It used to be about a comprehendable plot and interesting characters, but now we get pseudo-sitcoms and EXTREME Dragonball Z ripoff bullshit (i.e. Bleach, Naruto, etc.) that focuses on nothing but poorly animated and written plots so they can sell some toys to kids or get some new Japanese artist on the top 100 list in japan by having their song on the intro or outro. Yes, I am talking mostly about Deathnote.

Also, Fey, I don't like most metal, but there's a few nuggets out there that I hold onto with a hope that metal can actually become respected, but people like SOAD and 'Insert Other Popular Rock/metal band that teenage girls blast on their radio between the Fiddy cent and Puffy songs' ruin it by making it so girly and just bad that people accept that as what a 'good' metal band is supposed to be.

Maybe I shouldn't post when I'm in such a foul mood. I'm not working tommorow because a stray piece of wood took a Pinkey-tip sized hole out of my left hand, and I just can't seem to get un-pissed about it.

Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk and free throw.

Heh fun,I usually go for beat more than lyrics, but if it is intended to be funny and lyrics centric,I'll listen too.

For its type,7-10
Why?I've heard many that were a hell of a lot better.

Guess what?Incoming techno(this one is different, listen to it all, start is weird)

Song is from MC2(midnight club 2)

Damn, why does this keep drifting back so far? This is the last time I'll try to save it, I guess.

7.5/10
First techno-y song I've heard in a while that I didn't loathe. Granted, my friend keeps insisting on playing Kraftwerk, and that has biased me against techno a bit. I don't like songs that are longer than 20 minutes, let alone 45. And whenever I hear techno, I think of dancing monkeys. Heh. Anyways.

I guess this is a bit more lyrics centric as well, but I think it's got some nice rhythm to it.

6.5/10

Not one of Gogols better songs in my opinion. But gypsy punk kicks ass.

3/10, there's nothing more to say, I just don't like it.

If you're listening to the whole album straight through, this song can be kind of jarring, because it's so different from the rest, but on its own it's really good, especially after the third "You're Free Now!"

I'm surprised that this topic hasn't spiraled into one big flame wars, really I am.

Now a days no one can really, and truely respect each others own musical preferences, atleast on the interwebs. IRL you need to be polite.

First impressions were wtf... after the third "You've been framed now" I started to like it a little more. But its stuck at a 9/20, I don't particulary like this style of music at all. Its really boring to me, plus there really isn't much music creativity going on here aswell.

As for my next submission, I give you, Boards of Canada (They're from just outside Edinburgh), along with an awesome video.

You made a slight quote error, so I am assuming you wanted me to rate the Boards of Canada one. I will give it a 9/10, A very chillaxing song. I am impressed by your taste in music Nilocy, you keep submitting great songs with equally good videos from bands I have never heard of, amazing.

For my submission I will give you my fav song of all time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntm1YfehK7U.
Go on Cthulhu give it a 3/10 I dare you. If you do you will evoke the wraith of the Richard Wright's spirit and probably half the guys on this thread.

Pretty darn good song; I'll give it an 8.5 / 10.  Pink Floyd has quite a few songs that I like more, though.

Several bands have been submitted more than once, so I don't feel too bad about submitting this:
