"I see you seem to have found a kind soul right at the beginning of your journey. Did they have any relevant info?" he asked, allowing her to "hide" from the armored soldier nearby before turning towards him to offer an answer.

"We could go now, but I see no reason to do so. There's still time."

: "He didn't know anything about me, really. He just found me on the beach. Based on the state he found me in though, the circumstances leading up to me losing my memory were...
: "less than pleasant.

Her expression said that she didn't want to go into detail just now.

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

Seemingly rising in soul and body, Iso gets up and laughs.

"Sorry friends, but I had to make sure that you were all trustworthy, no? The merceneering life has not been easy on me." he says, tapping the cloth wound around his head and covering his right eye.

"..." He decided not pressing the matter would be for the best.

"Life is a blessing. Being glad it can be enjoyed is always soothing. Rise and live."

"Hmm I wonder where the other passengers went?"

"Sleeping or working, I suppose. I was carrying crates until just a moment ago to do my part, after all."

Tracey looks inquisitively at Iso.
"Mercenaries? Oh dear... I don't think I got on the right boat..."

Iso looks back. "Fortunately, that is no longer my job and I am doing more honest work."

Iso looks back. "Fortunately, that is no longer my job and I am doing more honest work."

"Mercenary business? Moving on to more honest work was most likely a boon for your mind and soul."

Land. The galleon finally reached land, and none too soon. Most people don't tend to adjust well to their first time on board. Especially if they would have to be confined to a ship for the course of months. Veda Gurdiel was no exception, and the feeling of floors that don't wobble under one's feet would be welcomed by them like a long lost friend. However, as much as they wished to race off to the docks and start kissing the dirt, Veda felt obligated to write out some paragraphs for their morning journal first, standing among the hubbub of workers. Veda helped the Captain enough with bookkeeping that they are spared from such manual labor.

"I need as many volunteers as I can get to come to the barracks in one hour. It's the tallest building to the north."

Below the ship, a woman, presumably military, rallied for volunteers to come to the barracks. Mercenary work, likely. We do need a job, and it likely will involve more traveling than any other employment a mage could have. We must go there.

Finishing their entry, Veda clasped their journal shut and disappeared back into their lodgings to gather what little belongings they had.

Veda quickly approached the passengers they were familiar to as they overheard them discussing the barracks. Veda did not talk much to the others during the voyage, owing to them staying inside writing and doing paperwork. The mage spoke timidly in a raspy voice incongruous with their appearance.

"We overheard that you were also going to the barracks."

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.

Tracey bites her lip in response to this new stranger. "I don't know... I'm only a dancer so I don't think I'd be good for an army..."
