I've never built a pump stack or a windmill or a waterwheel
I've never completely defeated the Circus to the last clown (almost, so close)
I've never built my dream megaproject all-above-ground dwarven city.
I've never had a Terrifying biome fort survive past the first 5 years.
I've never tried a glacial embark
I've never fully controlled all 3 cavern layers

Even when cheerfully recounting the slaughter of dozens of puppies, I'm reluctant to admit that I once beat an elf to death with the corpse of his daughter.

Wait, you didn't mean that kind of shameful admissions, did you?

I don't know, beating a man to death with his lunch sounds like something to be proud of...

I'm more terrified of the "happy" biomes like Serene or Joyous Wilds than any arctic terrifying biome because, the one time I embarked in one, all my dwarves were almost instantly slaughtered by a lone unicorn. It was horrible. shudders

Supposedly, they were more hostile in the past, although in my very first game in 40d, I had joyous wilds, and they weren't that bad for me, either.  (Except for the fact that I embarked on a volcano, and fire imps would occasionally fling a fireball that caused a grass fire that would obliterate the whole plains... free unicorn bones for everyone, though!)

But then, I'm a fierce advocate of cage trap checkpoints in wildlife traffic funnels and building walled-in spaces that mean I never have to let a dwarf outside the security ring of my killzone.  I've never had wildlife cause me problems besides the occasional on-the-moment-of-embark alligator or hippo charges out of a river at my wagon yaks.

I still haven't even -seen- unicorns.

I have like, the worst luck in joyous wilds. The worst thing I think I've seen in joyous wilds (besides magma crabs on a volcano) were ... like ... giant hedgehogs ???

Well, before the big zoological update, there were about 1/10th as many things in the creature raws that could spawn in a savage biome.  That kind of helped make them much more common.

As it stands now, you absolutely have to set up a real system for trapping or killing nearly everything that wanders on your map within the first couple days it ambles in if you hope to see at least one pack of everything.

Lets see.

While I do have the basics of minecarts and routes down, I have yet to build any advanced computing or shotgun minecart contraptions.

I have never made a goblin powered machine, most captured goblins get stuck in a room with a dwarf I wish to train.

I've never defeated the initial demon wave with pure dwarven military might. Only ever used a trap system to significantly weaken the wave before my military engaged them. Also never colonised hell.

While I have built numerous obsidian factories, I've never actually cast a whole obsidian fortress out of it.

I am guilty of occasional save-scumming, especially when I realise I cut too much off the wall of some room I wanted to engrave.

I have a bad habit of running df-hack reveal/unreveal and prospect all before I embark.

To be fair, that's been functionally impossible since 31.01 was rolled out.  40d and earlier clowns were hard, but entirely within the realm of possibility for dwarves to defeat.  Now, you get creatures the size of whales made of steel that spit fireballs or webs that are functionally impossible to kill in a fair fight.  You can only win martially if you have ultra-elites in artifact gear that basically outnumber the enemy, which won't happen in the clown rush, and only if you don't get the unlucky metal clowns.

At the same time, I honestly prefer engineering solutions to the military, anyway.  The military fights autonomously.  I'M the one fighting when I make an obsidian-caster or I design some minecart-based hyper-repeater to make an upright spike hallway more deadly.

Another admission. I once attempted to conquer HFS using ThatAussieGuy's dwarven checkerboard method. Everything was going well until I noticed, far too late, that I had forgotten about a tunnel that was funneling lava straight into the central staircase. I couldn't do anything to stop it and it ended up splitting the fortress into upper and lower levels once it hit the waterfall that I had set up midway through the staircase. Everyone on the lower levels burned to death, while everyone on the upper levels killed each-other in a tantrum spiral. The only survivors in the aftermath were a lone child who didn't care about anything anymore and a soldier who didn't care about anything anymore.

I've never built a minecart (or track or anything associated with them)

I've used pumps but no pump stack.

I've used magma, but only from a magma tube or surface volcano. I have never dug down to get a magma workshop set up.

I'm a renewables whore. Obsidian casting, fire clay and glassware give me boners. Digging out a tile is permanent damage to the tile and I "might need it for something else later". With this in mind, I sometimes mod the raws to have glass everythings. Beds, Anvils and crossbow bolts for example.

I often mod the raws to make my dwarfs "not shit". I'll edit the lowest 2 or 3 stats to match the average... then I'll boost the average to the top end... then I'll move the top end.

Then I get bored because everything's so easy.
