YES! I HELPED!

*ahem* yeah, our main problem is that overwatch. Either someone needs to bait it out, or someone needs to kill sectoid E.

Well, Arthur can't help with the overwatch. The sectoid is out of his LoS. Not to mention he already took an overwatch for the team.

I'll have him move to Adriana's last position once she moves.

You're welcome. Now go kill those aliens before they fry me again.

Velocity is my shield!
Crazy dashes for F13 (via P15)
..... ARE YOU NUTS?! If you Dash there, not only are you gonna tank the overwatch with your FACE, but you're gonna leave yourself WIDE open to those Sectoids! STOP! Wait until we actually take our shots, first! Even with these flanks, we only have a 60/65% chance to hit each one! Don't go getting yourself killed like Derek, dammit!

If he's still moving, P14 is full cover and might allow him to shoot.

EDIT:
"There's my opening... YAH!"

Andrea jumps the fence and blue-moves to J18, then fires on Sectoid E.

I'll wait to see how this pans out before moving.

Let's wait for me to resolve my move, first, since I've got the easiest flank shot. If I whiff it... well, fuck. Author, please do my move, first. Please do not let Crazy dash into a spot where he's gonna be flanked with such contemptible ease... we've had enough of that for one day...

I though I said you could kill them. Which you evidently can't. Alright, I'm moving to F18 (that should have the same encircling effect without me being in danger of a point blank shot). Please verify my hunch that I will get over-watched @M17 with 0 bonus.
Also my other assumption that had I moved as I wanted, I would get shot @P15 (where it is somewhat safe) not J15 (where it was suicide.)

If he's still moving, P14 is full cover and might allow him to shoot.
Absolutely not. The Crazy Methodcm is to get over-watched with while dashing (.49x malus) and with no range boni. Moving at regular speed is not conductive to that. (It used to be "get over-watched in low cover" but it turns out that's not an option in this game system.)

Would I still be able to hit at L13?

Yeah, you'd be able to shoot it.

Arthur is gonna want to be careful. Maybe even hang back. I mean, he's at 1 health. With the will penalty from Battle Fatigue (if that's even a thing at all in this game), a single Mindfray will put him down. Forget a lucky shot. Adriana might want to use a turn to heal him up to 4 health just so he can actually take a hit.

Oh, and I should probably point out that that Sectoid is inevitably going to try and move on its turn, because I'm flanking it. If it moves back in the house, I'm in a position to chase for sure, but my SMG is out and there's no guarantee I can kill it with a pistol. Some of us might wanna Overwatch to catch him when he moves out of cover. Or even do that instead of shooting; normal shots will have 30% chance to hit, or 36% with a carbine at optimal range. An Overwatch shot even with a rifle will have 42% chance to hit, 45/46% with carbine or laser sight. We actually have better odds that way, so you might want to OW instead of shoot.

If he doesn't get an additional kill he's as good as gone anyway, since he won't get promoted. No promotion means he doesn't get transferred into the real game, after all.

It's a risk-reward thing. There's 4 targets for the sectoid, and currently 3 different people shooting at him. If it survives, there's a 25% chance he attacks someone else, and there's also the chance it opts for a retreat.

Actually, are only promoted soldiers going to be transferred in?

Don't sweat it- we've lost 2 guys already and a 3rd might join them before the day is out. We have a lot of promotions in X-COM.

They will be transferred if they survive and if you get enough XP to level up to Specialist (long war equivalent of squaddie) you will join promoted and properly classed.
You need 120XP to rank up to SPEC. We get 80XP from finishing the mission. I got 20XP from grenading a sectoid. We would've gotten a 20XP bonus if everyone survived.

Those who don't achieve a promotion can still join XCOM.
As food rations.

Some of you are cooked already to save time.
