All unsuccessful ideas can be resubmitted next month with new designation numbers.Month 3, Week 2, July, 1945You reminise. One month ago your nation declared war on its new enemies, the Principality of Jurelia. One month ago, the Principality declared war on the struggling Vellan Commonwealth. Since then, you nation has been supplying the Vellans with equipment, albeit outdated equipment. Itannic ships have been bloackading the Principalities ports and capturing the nations convoys whilst the Air Force has been bombing the Principality from bases in the Vellan commonwealth.
(Roll=11) Whilst you nation has been preparing for war, your ROF has been no exception. It has managed to produce over 3 million 8x40mm rounds of ammunition, 3000 Warbler SMGs, 30,000 SAEs, 50,000 Lightweight grenades, 50,000 sets of lightweight Crusader armour and 4000 of each type of RFR. The MoD was almost drunk on giddiness when your report went through two days ago. Already, the MoD has mobilised the 27th Air Regiment, the 180th Strike Paratrooper Division, the 13th Royal Artillery (Airborne) and the 8th Commando.
They are being issued the new weapons with gusto and are expected to be deployed within the next week. You have also heard reports that record levels of munitions and equipment has also been produced in all the other ROFs in Itannia, leading to a bgooming war machine, high morale and fantastic propaganda opportunities. You wont forget the front page image of three rather stunning models holding the latest RFRs off the production line, posing in front of a tank, a pile of bullets and gun racks full of weapons. The headline:
GUNS, BULLETS and ARMOUR: Itannia Goes To War.
----------
First things first, you chase the MoD about your two outstanding requests. Surely they have gotten somewhere now, and after your record production levels they owe you a favour at least.
You ring up the Minister of Defense and Security. Ben picks up almost immediately. (Roll=11) With a beam, you ask heartily about your request for the Wildcats to replace the Giltons, and for the Giltons to be relegated to export.
"Ah! Good news, my friend! The Prime Minister has agreed! Wildcat production is to be scaled up immensely to help with the war effort. All current Giltons are being requisitioned by the MoD Requisitions Office for mothballing as we speak!" You can hear him beaming down at you due to a job well done. You cant help but smile either, knowing a design from your ROF has been successful and made its way to the front line. With a jolly chuckle, you ask about your other request, one of a much more political and sensitive nature.
(Roll=1) You ask about your request for a Kerminkian air wing for study. Bens joviality immediately drops through the floor as it turned to lead. With a growl of frustration, Ben admits that the Kerminkian Embassy has all but closed its doors to further negotiations due to the war. The Kerminkian government is posturing and blaming the Itannic Nation for the instability in the region. Ben tells you he has despaired as the old war-lovers of the governments Houses have given as good as they got back to the Kerminkians and now there is a war of words going on away from the public eye between the two nations. You frown. The last thing you need at the moment is a war with the kerminkians.
With friendly farewells, you end your call with Ben and sert forth for the development workshops. You need to see how your ongoing projects are doing, after all.
----------
Proposal R1. Two-engined transport plane. Make sure it can drop paratroopers, along with transporting supplies. Make the engines quiet, and make it large enough to carry 2 sections of paratroopers.
(Roll=8)
In a break from tradition, your project for a dedicated transport and air assault plane was taken to with enthusiasm which led to great results. Although not exceptional enough to lead to any breakthroughs, your engineers develop a sturdy, tough, long range and reliable transport aircraft capable of paradropping up to 70 fully equipped paratroopers, 80 litter patients with 5 medical crew or 50 Paratroopers and 3 light weight class vehicle, or 30 troopers and 2 medium weight class vehicle.

Natural 10 Success; choose one of the following:
Extreme ruggedness
Simple maintenance
Easy Construction
Fantastic Navigation Systems
Stable
Proposal R2:Radar. Develop Radar if we haven't already; if we have, improvements on detection and acquisition for current systems, and maybe see if we can shrink it down to fit into a palne.
(Roll=7)
Your engineers looked at taking your existing radar systems, which are advanced and capable, if bulky, and shrinking them enough to fit into aircraft, whilst also improving detection and acquisition of all types.
They suceeded admirably. Detection was increased by 1.3 times, as was acquisition. The MoD took immediate notice of this advancedment and almost as soon as it left the prototype stage, the MoD was ordering retrofitting to all currently docked naval vessels. The MoD was also impressed by the reduction in size of the units. In total, the size was reduced greatly. The devices are now 2.5 times smaller than they were before, and capable of being fitted onto the larger airframes the Itannic military produces, which will improve the effectiveness of all medium and heavy weight aircraft.
Proposal R3:Nuclear power. research possibility of creating reactors small enough to fit on ships to power steam turbines instead of traditional coal or oil boilers.
(Roll=12)
Nuclear power. The holy grail of power production. Near unlimited power in a package small enough to, theoretically at least, fit into ships.
Well, make that theoretically and practically. Your engineers and scientists on site threw a huge party when success on this project was announced. Work on Nuclear energy had been ongoing for a decade at least, however it took the ever enterprising minds of the Itannic military to come up with not just nuclear power, but nuclear power ploants small enough to fit into medium and heavy weight warships. Heavy Destroyers, Cruisers of all sizes, larger submarines, battleships, dreadnaughts and aircraft carriers can now be powered by their very own power plant.
Effectiveness and range of all craft fitted with a nuclear reactor is increased massively, fuel consumption is reduced significantly, with ships fitted with reactors needing to refuel only rarely. This further increases the hardness and risiliancy of battlegroups as there are less vulnerable supply ships, and warships can be built bigger, sturdier and more technologically and mechanically complex due to the power a reactor can provide.
The advent of this technology, and the number of breakthroughs it has led to in materials science, physics, mathematics and engineering has opened the door for further development in the nuclear technology line, and could also lead top further breakthroughs in armour technology.
Critical success roll of 12. Choose two of the following:
Extreme efficiency - Very low fuel consumption
Easy Construction - Fast construction
Tough - Highly durable and hard wearing due to great leaps in material sciences, reduced maintenance needs
Lightweight - Weight is halved through the use of the latest alloys from our nations metalworks and laboratories.
Armoured - Resistant to enemy fire, adds 280kg to weight.
Nuclear reactors of mdoerate size and larger are now available for incorporation into designs. Largest reactor, mainly designed for national grid usage can produce up to 1400 MW of energy. Naval sized reactors can produce anywhere up to 450MW.
Please bear in mind the advent of this technology will be made public. Your ROF WILL come under much scrutiny by outside powers and WILL become a major target for foreign intelligence agencies and spies.
Proporal R4:Immortal Class Aircraft Carrier
---this ship should have a double-deck hanger capable of housing 50-70 of our current smaller aircraft depending on design
---be moderately armored with an incorporated armored flight deck as well as reasonably fast(attempt to get 30 knots)
--- It should have 2 elevator lifts for planes(one fore and one aft),
---as well as 4 sponson mounted twin-40mm AA(one at each corner), 4 quad 20mm cannons, and 4 superfiring twin 140mm dual-purpose turrets
---(two turrets foward of the island, two aft, all of them(and the island) in the starboard side.)
(Roll=9)
Your naval engineers have been hard at work developing the nations first new carrier design for ten years. And with the success of the nuclear engineers, a new nuclear reactor can be included in the design. This has lead to a doubling of the available lifts from two to four, and a doubling of the armaments. Engines are also more powerful, leading to a top speed of 32 knots after the extra armour is taken into account.
The carrier has been clad in the latest armour from our development teams, giving it protection on deck and on its hull equipvalent to a Heavy Cruiser or a Battlecruiser. It is also larger than the initial design, allowing up to 100 small aircraft to call the ship home. You congradulate your engineers on their hard work and give them permission to contact the two nearest Naval ROFs for immediate construction orders. Due to the war effort and the use of prefabrication and modularity, the carriers should only take a few months to complete, especially as your nation is known for its shipbuilding.
Proposal R5. Sniper rifle "Impaler"
Now for real. Same goals except now they have to be able to use our new munitions.
Also they should have the power to pierce through body armor and kevlar.
(Roll=7)
After the abject failure of the MK1 Impaler, your engineers have been told to stop arsing about and get down to designing a proper marksman/sniper rifle.
And, somewhat surprisingly, your engineers manage just that. They design a good Marksman/Sniper rifle that is both sturdy and reliable, although not overly so.
Weight: 4Kg
Length: 1200mm
Barrel Length: 750mm
Cartridge: 8mm Itannic, 8x40mm Itannic and .50 Itannic
Action: Bolt Action
Muzzle Velocity: Varies with round used
Effective firing range: Varies, usually between 800-1400m
Max firing range: 2500m
Feed System: 5 round rotary magazine, hand loaded.
Sights: Various telescopic sights. Iron Sights.
Proposal R6. Nerve gas -
Paralysis of the lungs and to be able to kill anyone not protected by gas mask.
Should be able to be easilly air dropped onto a field and 'cover' a medium to large area.
(Roll=3)
The project almost entirely fails. Your scientists and chemists do manage to produce a chemical nerve gas agent that causes the desired effects, however it disperses extremely quickly and the effects are not always lethal, although they are always crippling. You arent sure how you feel about this. Should you be relieved or disappointed?
For now, you order the prototype shelved until further time that it can be looked at.
R7. New heavy tank (It should be faster, more maneuverable, while also keeping most of its armor.)
(Roll=10)
You order the continued development of a new heavy armoured vehicle. The engineers assigned to this project decided to build a new vehicle from the ground up. They set themselves the target of having a rotatable turret, which will contain the main gun, heavy armour with good sloping, decent speed and mobility requirements and good reliability.
With the new design, the specification was completed in full.
A modified 100mm AA gun, fixed to a turreted AT mount and firing high velocity AT ammo was packed into a newly designed heavy turret that had 160mm of armour sloped at 40 degrees on all sides. two .50 cal machine guns were fitted as coaxial weapons with a third pintle mounted .50 for the commander. Smoke launchers were also fitted to the left and right of the main cannon. The turret is somewhat elongated due to the area in the read of the turret for ammo storage, with the rest of the ammo being stored further down in the Turret section. The tank includes anti-spalling and wet ammo storage technology.
The turret is fitted to a brand new hull, that has the same 160mm of sloped armour on the front, slanted at 40 degrees, a slight V-shaped hull to deflect mine blasts as well as a 100mm thick composite blast plate in the belly. The sides and rear of the hull are 90mm and 60mm of armour respectively, with the sides being slanted at 30 degrees. Capacity for side skirt attachments has also been added in case extra armour is needed in close quarters combat. The tank also boasts wide and thick tracks for exceptional grip and durability and its improved Horstmann Bogie suspension gives it good off road capabilities.
A new engine was developed to meet the demands of the new tank. A new 800hp v-12 Meteor-II petrol engine was developed. Unfortunately, it was deemed underpowered for this design and a second design was designed as well. The 1200hp v-12 Meteor-III Petrol engine. Diesel versions of both were also developed.
Weight: 65t
Length: 11m (gun forward)
Width: 4m
Height: 3.1m
Crew: 5 (Commander, Gunner, Driver, Radio Operator, Loader)
Armor: Hull: 160mm@40 degree front, 90mm@30degree side and 60mm flat on rear; Turret: 160mm@40degree all around.
Main Armament: 100mm rifled gun (54 rounds)
Secondary Armament: 2x .50 cal machine gun and .50 cal Pintle machine gun
Engine: 1x1200hp v-12 Meteor-III Petrol engine
Power/weight: Depending on engine, 12 hp/tonne or 18hp/tonne
Suspension: Horstmann Bogie
Operational Range: 150-200 Miles
Speed: 30Mph on road and 28Mph offroad with 1200hp engine.
Ground Clearance: 0.8m
Success roll of 10. Choose one of the following:
Highly efficient - Low fuel consumption
Easy Construction - Fast construction
Tough - Highly durable and hard wearing, reduced maintenance needs
Lightweight - 5 tonnes are removed from the weight through the use of the latest alloys from our nations metalworks.
Armoured - Resistant to enemy fire, adds 3 tonnes to weight.
Proposal R8. Leviathan Class Submarine
(Roll=7)
Another naval project continuation for the engineers this month. After several months of investigation and research, the Engineers have come up with a good design for a heavy submarine capable of long periods underwater without the need for continuous surfacing. Main question is whether or not the new nuclear power plants should be included. ((PLEASE VOTE ON WHETHER OR NOT TO INCLUDE THE NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS IN THIS DESIGN. DO YOU WANT THE WORLDS FIRST NUCLEAR SUB, OR DO YOU WANT TO MAINTAIN THE DIESEL ELECTRIC PATH?
Proposal R9. Hoplite Universal Tank
Tank:Universal Tank, Hoplite Mk-1
Powerplant:(new)one 800hp v-12 Meteor-II petrol engine(single 600hp existing meteor is acceptable)
Suspension:Horstmann bogie
Weight:52 tons
Length:8m
Width:4m
Height:3.2m
Crew:4(commander/radio operator, gunner driver, loader)
Armor:120mm armor on hull sloped @60 degrees(240mm LOS thickness), side and rear armor 80mm. turret 152mm all around(sloped at 30 degrees for a los thickness of 238). Edges should all be rounded when possible
Main Armament:100mm Royal Ordinance AA gun modded for AT mounted in turret
Secondary armament:1 coaxial Mortimer 8mm machine gun, 1 pintle-mounted Mortimer machine gun on the turret
Ground Clearance:.5m
Speed:35mph
Operational range:350 miles
(Roll=12) CRITICAL SUCCESS
Another ongoing tank design, this time for a medium/MBT class tank. As the original design brief stated, the Hoplite is meant to fill the gap of a multi-purpose all round tank that can fill any role given to it.
As such, it has been equipped with a modified 100mm Royal Ordnance AA gun modified for AT use. It uses the newly developed 800hp petrol engine, although 800hp diesel engines can be used instead. It uses the Horstmann bogie suspension, like its bigger brother and rolls in at a nice and light 52 tonnes. Armour is fantastic for such a light tank, due mainly to the new alloys and composites. The turret and front of the tank has the best protection, making this tank a fantastic charger as well as well suited to hull-down positions.
Its light weight, coupled with a reliable new engine gives the tank a whopping 350 mile range. The suspension and wide tracks means this tank i s also exceptional offroad and over hilly and semi-mountainous terrain.
Critical Success roll of 12. Choose two of the following:
Highly efficient - Low fuel consumption
Easy Construction - Fast construction
Easy Maintenance - Faster maintenance, increased range.
Tough - Highly durable and hard wearing, reduced maintenance needs
Lightweight - 3tonnes are removed from the weight through the use of the latest alloys from our nations metalworks.
Armoured - Resistant to enemy fire, adds 3tonnes to weight.
Fantastic Mobility - Can go up hills no other tank can, meaning it can reach fantastic overwatch positions and can outflank most other tanks.
Proposal R10. 110mm tank gun
110mm Tank gun
Weight 2650 kg
Barrel Length: 6m
Crew: 7
Calibre: 110 mm
Shell: 15kg
Carriage: Vehicle Mount or Towed gun
Breech: Horizontal sliding wedge (semi-automatic)
Recoil: Hydraulic buffer and hydropneumatic recuperator
Elevation +20°, –4°
Rate of fire 4 rounds
Muzzle velocity 1,000 m/s
Maximum firing range: 20,000 m
(Roll=11)
Critical Success roll of 12. Choose two of the following:
Highly Reliable - Never jams or fails to cycle.
Easy Construction - Fast construction
Easy Maintenance - Faster maintenance, increased rate of fire (+2).
Tough - Highly durable and hard wearing, reduced maintenance needs
Lightweight - 600kg are removed from the weight through the use of the latest alloys from our nations metalworks.
Armoured - Resistant to enemy fire, adds 600kg to weight.
The final continuing project is the mightly 110mm AT cannon. A dedicated tank murdering machine, this beast is the pride of the engineering departments AT section.
Capable of gutting a heavy tank from two miles away, you really do not want to be on the receiving end of this.
The engineers ar proud of this weapon, and it is fully capable of being retrofitted into our existing tanks, as well as being produced as a fixed AT gun or towed AT battery.
----------
After leaving your in-development workshops, you head over to the other laboratories and workshops that design new ideas. After the success of almost all your ongoing projects, you are in very high spirits. A fantastic month so far, bar the war.
----------
You walk into your development workshops and take a look around the new designs:
Proposal 1: Design a jet fighter to escort our bombers, and intercept enemies. It should be able to escort our bombers all the way into enemy territory, and back. Armed with minimum 2 30mm cannon
2.1 Armed with minimum 2 20mm, +4 .50cal, with hardpoints for underwing armaments
(Roll=11)
Your engineers are tasked with building the worlds first multirole jet aircraft. The previous war saw the rapid advancement of prop/turboprop aircraft almost to their maximum logical limit, although the Air Force ROFs continue to advance them and are currently developing new aircraft that surpass everything before them, or so the rumours go.
The first role is based primarily on dogfighting, air superiority and smaller scale CAS and Tactical bombing and rocket runs. You engineers design a powerful, compact aircraft with a canard-delta-wing shape. The canards are capable of acting as ailerons and moving, as well as contributing to lift and stability. The overall aircraft is quick, agile and highly maneuvreable. This version carried 4x.50 cal MGs on each wing, plus 2x 20mm autocannons in the nose. There are also hardpoints that can carry light and moderate weight bombs and, theoretically, rockets.
The second design is more for interception, strike fighter, anti-everything, tactical and light strategic bombing roles. It has more hardpoints on its wings and belly, leading to a higher possible combat load. Weight has been saved by removing the .50cal MGs completely from the wings and having only 2x30mm autocannons in the nose and 1x.50cal in the nost also. Due to the higher load, this version is more sluggish than its sister craft.
The further development and refinement of the Majestic turbojet enginer let to a breakthrough, and to a new engine the Engineers are dubbing the Majestic MK2. They even managed to design an afterburner, however this makes the enginer unstable when used and can cause issues with control and accuracy.
New Engine:

Proposal 2. A pulse jet powered, semi-active radar using missile armed with a 250KG warhead. Should be able to be fired from towable trailers(Dont want to make the mistake of the V1)
3.1 500kg warhead
(Roll=10)
The first missile ever designed by the Itannic people, this missile is a great success. The pulsejet engine can propel a 250kg warhead 200 miles with moderate to poor accuracy (this increases the closer the target is). A 500Kg warhead can be carried 150 miles, a 800Kg warhead can be carried 120 miles and a 1000Kg warhead can be carried 80 miles. Accuracy is poor towards the end of each of these ranges, but gets better the closer the target is and therefore more reliable and more dangerous. The missiles have the required semi-active radar, which enables ranges of this level, however as the radar systems needed are still a bit big for this application, trimmed down versions have had to be used and, thus, the poorer accuracy the further out the target is.
Can be mounted in batteries of 10 or more, which can be attached to almost any platform or used as a static emplacement.
Success roll of 10. Choose one of the following:
Highly Reliable - Virtually never breaks down.
Easy Construction - Fast construction
Easy Maintenance - Faster maintenance, increased rreliability and load capabilities.
Tough - Highly durable and hard wearing, reduced maintenance needs
Proposal 3. Solid fuel rocket system, capible of being fired from aircraft, vehicles, trailers, and/or ships. Minimum of 15kg warhead and 5km range(non aircraft varients only)
(Roll=8)
As well as the missile, a dumb-fire rocket was developed. Nicknamed the Screamer, this 60kg rocket can carry a 20kg warhead up to 1km away.
Weight: 60 kg
Length: 200 cm

Platform: Any aircraft, vehicle or static launcher.
Proposal 4. A small, powerful, air-droppible jeep, for use by pairatroopers or mountan troops. should be able to carry four passengers, or to tow 1 ton. Main focus should be weight
(Roll=9)
Some engineers say that the men who worked on this project got the easy job. A 4x4 capable of being air dropped was easily designed. The machine is tough, rugged, steel framed yet mostly aluminium in build, keeping weight very light. It can have a variety of weapons attached to it and can easily tow equipment, weapons or other things upo to a weight of 4 tonnes behind it without bother.
Specifications for this magnificent little 4x4 are below:
Specifications:
Weight: 1042kg empty
Length: 3.4m
Width: 1.5m
Height: 1.8m
Engine: Public, commercial 400hp petrol engine
Transmission: 4 speed gearbox with two speed reverse.
Suspension: Live axles on leaf springs
Fuel capacity: 12.5 imperial gallons (56.8 L)
Operational Range: 300 mi (482.8 km)
Speed: 65 mph (105 km/h)
Success roll of 9. Choose one of the following:
Highly Reliable - Virtually never breaks down.
Easy Construction - Fast construction
Easy Maintenance - Faster maintenance, increased rreliability and load capabilities.
Tough - Highly durable and hard wearing, reduced maintenance needs
Proposal 5. Condor medium jet bomber; twin engined 2000KM range 2 crew 3000KG internal bomb storage designed for fast, high altitude flight
(Roll=7)
The engineers assigned to this design produced a plane that fit the specification remarkably well, given their time frame.
The plane has a high combat load, is reliable and sturdy. It is also armed with nose mounted cannon to defend itself if need be. It is also rather agile for a medium bomber, helped along by the canard-delta design of the other craft and 3 powerful engines.
Characteristics:
Crew: 2 (Pilot/Navigator and Pilot/Bombadier)
Length: 20m
Wingspan: 24.4m
Height: 4.52m
Empty weight: 9,820kg
Loaded weight: 20,865kg
Max. takeoff weight: 24,948kg
Powerplant: 2 × Majestic MK2 Turbojet Engines.
Performance:
Maximum speed: Mach 0.88 (580 mph, 933 km/h) at 12,192m
Combat radius: 1,300 km
Ferry range: 5,440 km
Service ceiling: 15,000 m
Rate of climb: 17 m/s
Wing loading: 434 kg/m²
Armament:
Guns: 2 x 20 mm cannon
Rockets: 2 x unguided rocket pods
Missiles: A variety of missiles can be carried according to mission requirements
Bombs: Total of 3,628 kg of payload can be mounted inside the internal bomb bay and on two underwing hardpoints
Satisfied, you leave to peruse the papers.

News has reached you of new designs from the Naval and Air Force ROFs, however you do not have information on them just yet.
DOMESTIC NEWS(Roll=10) You find that there is nothing out of the ordinary happening in the nation at this time. News of your ROF's discoveries has reached the papers however, and there seems to be much debate and public interest in your technology. Of course, the MoD is not letting anything out, especially the location of your facility.
You take the wise decision to step up security anyway, as you can never be too sure when dealing with the public, and even less sure when dealing with foreign powers.
Recuitment is going well, and the war effort seems to be keeping our Commonwealth allies stable for the moment. Two divisions have already been sent over to fortify the border. The next ones to go are the military units currently being outfitted with your ROF's produce. Of course, you get
that info from an internal military memo, not from the public papers. Loose lips sink ships after all.

(Roll=1)
Global news is much worse however. It seems the nation of Vispania, in the far South West of the continent has descended into a Four way civil war between the loyalists and monarchists on one side, Fascists on another, Anarchists on a third side and Communists on a fourth. Of course, various powers on the continent are providing support to their favoured sides. Wisely, the Itannic government has chosen to stay out of this issue.
The Principality, on the other hand, has managed to gain the aide of the Kerminkians. The Kerminkians are providing material goods to the Principality, including vehicles and artillery. No planes, however, and the Kerminkians are not providing air cover. Despite the lack of air cover, it is not a good development. You currently dont have any air droppable equipment that could take out heavy armour, and from what SOE has uncovered about the Kerminkian armour, we will need equipment that can take them out sooner than later.....

Thank you.
Its now 2:40am and I am going to bed.))
