Looking at the map in the OP, it seems they're either an NPC faction that the GM forgot to name or it's Wwolin's faction. Probably the latter, considering its size.

With a new ambitious Basileus in Konstantinoupolis and recent victories against barbarians to the north and east, the time was ripe for the Roman Empire to begin to reclaim historical territory. Thema from the western and northern provinces are ordered into the historical province of Moesia, to pacify the fractured Bulgar tribes there. A more cautious advance occurs into Cilicia, seeking out a Turkish response.

Konstantinoupolis is overjoyed to hear that our Latin brethren have thrown off the shackles of the Gothic invaders and a new Imperator sits in the Eternal City. A team of diplomats is dispatched immediately, to establish contact between the two Roman empires, and bring into effect new treaties and documents proclaiming the recognition of the new Italian state as the successor to the Western Roman Empire, and the alliance between Latin West and Greek East.

The Eastern Roman Empire dispatches to the Crimean capital by boat a number of officials, seeking audience with the Crimean leader. Representatives of the Basileus seek to establish dialogue and an official border agreement, preferably along the Danube. They are prepared to offer a guarantee of non-aggression and to officially cede the historical provinces of Taurica, Pannonia, and Dacia, currently controlled by the ((...Varangians? Who are you playing as, Russians?)). The Roman delegation in turn requests a guarantee of non-interest in lands south of the Danube, and for access to the Crimean peoples for the purposes of spreading the Faith.

(TL;DR looking to establish a border agreement and non-aggression pact.)

With the failure of diplomacy in the west, the Basileus was forced to divert some of his soldiers from Cilicia and Moesia to the invasion of Sicilia.

Roma is likewise very pleased that the cities in the east have unified and now fight in the name of the empire. The Imperium recognises the Eastern Roman Empire and accepts the offer of alliance between East and West, also throwing in a trade agreement.
The Imperium asks for aid in removing from both of our territory the band of glorified pirates known as the "Nuragic League" who currently claim parts of Italia, Sicilia, and Achaia. Freeing Italia will allow Roma to send her troops into Graecia in the event of a Crimean invasion.
((Should I call the head of your faction "Basileus" or something else? If my faction is commonly known as the "Imperium", what is yours called?))

The Imperium Romanum hereby demands the removal of all Republic claims to land in Sicilia. If these demands are met, Imperial troops will be sent to press your claims in Sardinia and Carthago alongside the FMMRZG's own armies. If these demands are not met, the Imperium will declare war on the Republic.
((Give me Sicily and I'll help you conquer Carthage and Sardinia. Don't give me Sicily and I'll take it by force.))

The Imperium sends a legion to destroy the final remaining bastion of the Gothic king's forces led by his son, stationed in the province just north-west of our territory and adjacent to the Thyrenean Sea.

With a new king seated in København, the warlike New Kalmarians begin their conquest of the rest of the Nordic area, starting with the remaining provinces in Norway and Sweden. Large bands of Swedish warriors are raised, and sent out to conquer these territories.

Meanwhile, the Danish part of New Kalmar is also on the warpath, with the vicious Danish Vikings beginning to conquer the northern area of Germany, including Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg.

The FMMRZG claims on important ports on Fyn and Sjælland is most unwanted, and the New Kalmarians demand them back, though they are willing to let the FMMRZG keep Åland if Fyn and Sjælland are returned. Otherwise, there will be war. ((Give me Fyn/Funen and Sjælland/Zealand, and you'll get to keep Åland. Don't, and all 3 will be taken by force.))

 I have no words, Nuragics . You have claimed a good quarter of my land. Let's try to avoid war, shall we? Out of the 8 provinces of mine that you have claimed, I want (as is fair) 4 back: Sardinia, Carthage, Western Cypres, and The Canaries. You can swap Cypress out for a different island colony, if you wish. I shall then remove my own claims from the remaining contested land.

The Basileus' representatives sign the trade agreement quite enthusiastically. They are more allusive on the matter of military aid, however. If the Eastern armies were infinite, they would have already freed the Latins from the Gothic occupation many years ago, after all. On this matter the representatives must communicate with the Basileus himself, which will of course take some time.

((Basileus, yes. I'm fine with "Eastern Empire", "Eastern Rome", "Basileia Rhomaion", etc. The "Byzantine" or "Hellenic" Empire, if you dislike me for some reason.

The Basileus is quite distressed to find Nuragic marauders in his province of Achaea. If they are removed without requiring Roman intervention, the Basileus will agree to not press his legitimate claim upon the islands of Creta and Cyprus against the Nuragic League.

With their grasp over the Mediterranean trade shaky at best, the Nuragic League seeks to found a new colony along the shore of the mainland. Citizens fleeing the conflict on the island of Sicily are directed towards the old Qart Attiq cities of Phoenicia, so that the purple dye of Tyre may be known throughout Europe once more.

While we do acknowledge your claims on Carthange and the Canaries to be legitimate, the thought of giving up our capitol of Sardinia is simply absurd, and the islands of the Eastern Mediterranean serve as an important naval base, should the Greeks or Turks decide to attack. However, we are willing to arrange a counter-offer. Your claims of Carthage and the Canaries shall be given back to you, as well as the city of Utica (west of Carthage) and the northern tip of Morocco -a total of five provinces- as a show of good faith. In exchange, we ask that you renounce your claims on the Mediterranean islands, and support us in the conflict over the island of Sicilia against the Imperium Romanum, which, should they be allowed to expand southward, will most certainly come into conflict with your republic over the lands of northern Africa.

The Nuragic League does admit that the city of Attika and the Peloponnese Peninsula have traditionally been ruled over by Greeks. However, that land amounts for a full fifth of the territory of the Nuragic League, nearly as large as all of Thrace, and only a coward or a madman would give up so much territory without a fight. However, as a league of traders, we would rather fight with words than with weapons, and it is for this reason that we offer you the following proposal: Attika, the most important city of the region, shall be ceded to your Empire, as well as the scattered islands between the Greek mainland and Asia Minor. In exchange, we ask that we be allowed to maintain control over the Peloponnese Peninsula, at least for the time being. Should relations between our nations remain cordial, it may be ceded at a later date, when our league is not at risk of collapse due to external conflicts. We would also like to offer an alliance against the Turks in the east, who pose a threat to both of our nations.

The members of the Nuragic League are shocked that you have laid claim to a full third of our land, consisting of the island of Sicilia and the southern portion of Italy. However, we realize that this territory amounts to a third of your land as well, and are willing to offer a compromise. We request that we be given full control over Sicilia, as well as the city of Rhegion in the Italian southwest. The rest of Italy shall be left to Rome, should they accept these terms.

Are provinces claimed every turn secret (like during the setup?) Do agreements (swapping provinces and the like) need to be publicly announced?

FMMRZG expands along the river banks of the Nile. Settlers from Zaeland move on to occupy the mouth of the Western Dvina. Finally, in another Northern Exploit, Iceland is settled. Now there will never be a shortage of Atlantic herring again!
