"A fallen warrior...it seems he took many of the foe with him before he fell. It was a good death. We should honor his sacrifice by taking up his arms. He certainly has no more need of them." She says reverently.

Action: Sucana prods the corpses to make sure they aren't faking. Assuming they aren't, she takes up the shield for her own, removing the bone spikes with the hilt of her sword.

Forgive me. Take the iron cap and the breastplate and wear them.

Someone ran in here, Essel pointed towards the well. And the only way he could've gone is down there.

Take some of the ropes and twist them together to make a rope thick enough to support the weight of a person. Who's the thinnest one here?

Sučana pokes the corpses with her sword point - aside from them crumbling slightly, they don't move. She picks up the shield, forcing out the bone spikes. They clatter dully on the floor as her straps it to her arm.

Essel takes the helm and puts it on his head, accidentally knocking the skull - still covered with withered, paper-fine skin - onto the floor. He unclasps the leather armour, and placing his pick on the floor, puts on the tattered defence. He begins weaving ropes together when Sučana looks up.

An eye looks back.

Almost impossible to spot against the stone with mottled grey skin, the creature has spidery thin limbs, studded with tiny bone shards like hairs and each ending in a pair of gnarled claws. It's gaunt to the point you can see the spine as an impression on the stomach.

The head is bald and noseless, with a cyclopean, yellowed eye staring hatefully down. With a screech it hurls itself at the one who spotted it!

Spawn: 5+4+4+2 = 15
Sučana: 7+2 = 9

It thuds against the shield, bowling her over, and sinks jagged teeth into her sword arm!

(If I go before) sinks both her blades into its back, withdrawing only one, then sinking into a defensive stance.

"Foul thing." Sucana commented, concentrating on her next move.

Action: Brace myself against the floor, and try to toss the creature away, by hefting it off with my shield-afterwards attempting to rise to my feet, if possible.

Karia lunges at the monster with both blades!

Karia: 12+2 -4 = 10
Spawn: 17+2 = 19
The creature shrieks and swings a lithe arm with remarkable speed, batting Karia back. Below the beat, Sučana tries to heave the thing away with her new shield, ignoring the blood leaking from the jagged bite on her arm.
Code: (Sucana vs Spawn) [Select]
Sucana: 20+2-1 = 21
Spawn: 10+2 = 12

Off balance from fending off Karia, the creature tumbles back, landing on the floor with a thud. It has already began scrambling to its feet when the other two attack!

Code: (Essel vs Spawn) [Select]
Essel: 17
Spawn:19-2+2

Essel swings the heavy pick towards the skull of the monster but at the last second it jerks out the way. Sparks fly as the steel head crashes against the rock of the floor, sending chips of stone hissing through the air.

Code: (Slope vs Spawn) [Select]
Slope: 1
Spawn: 13+2-2
Slope tries to aim for the eye, but the creature avoids his attack easily. A fist swings out and thuds into his gut, driving him back.

The creature rears up and shrieks again, before lunging out towards Slope as he recoils.

Code: (Spawn vs Slope) [Select]
Spawn: 17+2
Slope:3+2

The twisted claws open up deep furrows in the unarmoured rogue's flesh. The monster brings back its hands, dripping red, and lets out a screech of triumph.

She follows this by a sweeping slash from the opposite side, hoping the creature dodges into it.

She follows this by a sweeping slash from the opposite side, hoping the creature dodges into it.


Action: Sucana coordinates with this attack, mirroring Karia's attack from the opposite side-to hopefully drive the creature in a wedge between them.

Essel swings his pick again, but the creature again dodges his clumsy swing.

Code: (Karia vs Spawn) [Select]
Karia: 9+2, 20+2!
Spawn: 4+2
The flying blade seems to catch the creature off guard. The blade thuds into its side, sending it staggering into the sweeping blade Karia swings the other way. The sword rips deep into its neck, and the creature gurgles and thrashes until...
Code: (Sucana vs Spawn) [Select]
Sucana: 6+2
Spawn: 10-4
Sučana drives her blade into the creature from the other side. While her blow is nowhere near the power of Karia's strike, it's enough, and the creature folds and tumbles to the ground. It twitches a few times before its lithe muscles relax into death.

Silence returns to the room except for the chuckling of water in the well.
