Karia giggled, despite herself. That was not the first time she'd heard such a statement.

She  spins around, eyes closed, until after she hears the sunmote smash.

And there's chaos when push comes to shove, but it's music to my ears.

"I am no child. I am a Queen. I lead a nation. I fought a war. I've sailed around all ninteen seas and felt the cold winds against my skin at the frozen ends of the Earth. I've dallied with Gods and Demons in their courts.

And, I've killed monsters worse than you."
She said resolutely, backstepping, her sword rising in an overhand stance.

...

She looked over at Karia.

"What do you think, a bit over the top?" She said quietly, in a completely straight tone.

Action: Avoid that flash and if it works, charge the blinded enemies.

'Just a little.'

Karia's tone was very much not straight. In fact, it was strangely mirthful, given the situation.

Watch your eyes!

Essel shouted a warning and held up the sunmote before turning his head away, with his eyes screwed shut, and cast it against the floor in front of the charging necromonks. Then he would step forward and aim a cut at the nearest monk's head whilst they were dazed.

'Fu-'

Karia spun away from the flash ((editing her action)).

((Ok, a quick note about turns - it operates in a everyone gets a turn sort of rotation. So at the moment, it's Slope's and Essel's actions, and then the monks.))

((Any chance of reactions - such as the covering eyes? ))

"Damn it! Damn it! What the hell are these things?" he shouted. Just in time he shielded his eyes from the flash of the sunmote.

Using the opportunity of the flash, Slope sneaks into the room where the monks came from, trying to look at it in detail.

((We should be cutting them down whilst they're blind, there's no point in remaining defensive and allowing them to recover.))

((They're always blind. They can't really see. I'm much more sneaky than Sucana so I won't have a problem snooping around in their room while they're busy fighting. You guys are better at fighting anyway.))

((They can see, just not very well. Sucana was standing still so they wouldn't spot her moving. The sunmote is very bright which means they'll still be in pain when it happens, the same way someone who wears reading glasses can still be bothered by flash bulbs. You should take the opportunity to sneak up on one and backstab him, rather than inspecting the room for.. Some reason?))

((We already have one. There's the crumbled wall behind us and the door we never opened back down the hall. Either knock down that wall to prepare our exit or kill one of the monks.))
