The kobold responds.

"NOW you show up. We've been trying to contact you for the last... 8 hours or so? That sound right <insert the dwarf's name here>?"

[Helmaroc]

Urist Cheesebottle the Height of Beer (the dwarf) says,"Yeah! And we ran out of beer two days ago!"
The Fire Lord responds,"Oh, I guess I lost track of time...that baking show is so exciting!
The kobold (Cleavepants in the common language) says,"Yeah, I love that show. But back to business!"

[Impending Doom]

OOC: Now now, let's be civil, everyone...

IC: The dwarf looks from the kobold to the hand, then back to the kobold, then pulls out his emty wine-skin and stares into it, longingly.

OOC: Its a DREAM world! Anything can happen. Silly evil gods with their tempers! Feel free to change it (for instance, make the dwarf totally confused and not know what a 'show' is. Then make it work out that the fire lord and kobold were secretly confusing the dwarf to kill him or something, and that they had no idea what a 'show' is! I never mentioned a "TV" show!)

(OOC: seeing as there are no rules as to what I can summon into this strange world...)

Large perfectly square blocks fall from the void above. Each block is the exact same shape and size, however they come in both black granite and white marble. They sort themselves into a checkered pattern as they fall, and appear to become a chessboard next to the chasm. The lack of game pieces beckons eerily. A small balista loaded with a silver bolt lands in the center of the chessboard. A figure robed in black can been seen on the oposite side of the chessboard from the shack.

[Helmaroc]

The Fire Lord (not just a hand, a humanoid fire giant) speaks in an incomprehensible demon-screech to the black figure. It does not respond anymore then sending a bolt flying at the...

[Impending Doom]

...Dwarf, striking him in the chest. The bolt bounces harmlessly off his chainmail. He glances over at his kobold companion, who nods, and then both of them charge across the board at the hooded figure.

[Dark]

The figure raises its hands with arms outstreched dramatically. From within his hood two dots of dark cold intelligence glare.

Music begins to play. 'Doo doo doo doo doo, du du, du du, doo doo doo doo doo, du du, du du, doo doo doooo doooo doooooo, du du, du du, etc etc, basically that classical space-themed music'

[Impending Doom]

The kobold reaches the figure first, followed shortly by the dwarf. The two begin hacking away at the figure to the rythm of 'The Blue Danube'.

Doo doo doo doo doo,
Smack crunch crack wham,
Doo doo doo doo doo,
Pow whack swish boom,
Doo doo doo doo doo etc.

As the dwarf and the kobold are running across the giant checkerboard, a giant stone chess piece, a knight, appears on the square in front of them. He wields a long sword (made of stone, like everything else on him) and rides an angry horse. He raises his blade into the air above the kobold, when...

(crud, we're all posting on top of eachother, lets say that the knight still appears, as the music plays! Continue!)

... the figure throws a sock with a half-brick in it at the dwarf and flees. Dream-logic demands that nobody can get hurt in this strange world, even if cut in half!

And for the finish,

A massive sword comes down right between the dwarf and the kobold. they both turn to see a massive stone statue of a knight standing behind them.
