"Finesse is everything... Medics, help the wounded, gunners, sweep the horizon, there's bound to be more of 'em."

Use my microwave amp to sever the thin tubes at where they connect to the thicker stalks with a careful application of a disc of heat.

Also, paris said that manip brains don't regain mindpoints during mission for some reason. Is this true? If yes, why? And why is it not indicated anywhere, since that seems like a pretty important mechanic change?))

(( I believe this was also changed for normal amp use as well, if I recall? Mind points just don't recharge during a mission anymore, at least beyond recovering from the inevitable headaches, in order to place *some* kind of ammo restriction on amps and manips. Isn't that why you bought multiple brains in the first place?

Annoyingly, I can't recall where the conversation about all this *was*...))

If still conscious enough, make snarky comment about how it's probably a good thing that I can't feel pain anymore before requesting medical attention. If not, drool everywhere instead and hallucinate about my pre incarceration mercenary work

((Yeah, no, switching brains takes an aux roll. Or at least it did untill now. You can bet I wouldn't be doing it myself if it needed a med roll. I have proof:
Quote
As long as you keep the brains in their individual life support systems, then all you need to do is roll Aux to uncouple them and install the new brain. And the Output thing is already on it.
So, I can assume all that damage is undone, and I just switched it with no problem? Also, paris said that manip brains don't regain mindpoints during mission for some reason. Is this true? If yes, why? And why is it not indicated anywhere, since that seems like a pretty important mechanic change?))
No fun.

Fine.

Manip brains regain points just like normal ones. The idea of not regaining mindpoints during a mission was one idea I was playing with for how to balance and change amps and manips. It got thrown out, talked about and I decided on something else. I think Paris wasn't around for the whole conversation.

Ow, oh shit. Start spray the holes with flesh kniter
Well, that stops the bleeding but having big lump of clotted, reconstituted tissue straight through your lung doesn't help you breathe any easier.

"Cavern breached. This thing is kinda small though. I'll see if I can reach that cluster, but if not I'm gonna need some of you guys to come down here to cut it."

Look around, search for the cluster. Use cameyes if needed. Follow nerves if I can't seem to find it immediately. And again, same question: does cutting that brain with the naginata use uncon?
You drop down into the  hole and scrunch down onto the ground in an army crawl. You see where you think the cluster is pretty easily; it's lost in a fucking wall of nerve fibers which completely encircle it.

And cutting it would be uncon, yes.

"Creating ceiling of heat to protect trench, comb willing.  Tek hopes you get that feed, fellow invisible man.  If you don't, you might want to consider reinforcing the ceiling.

As for those in the jeep... Good luck!"

Create a thin but intense ceiling of heat parallel to the trench and about 10 feet above it to destroy any incoming projectiles.
Nunzy, you have what is called a manipulator, see. And it's got a 3 token brain, see. And Manips are designed for short, precision activities, see. So this thing you are trying to do is a very bad idea. And If you want me to do it, I can, but I'm giving you this one warning because we're quickly running out of people with working brains and organs.

"Finesse is everything... Medics, help the wounded, gunners, sweep the horizon, there's bound to be more of 'em."

Use my microwave amp to sever the thin tubes at where they connect to the thicker stalks with a careful application of a disc of heat.

((Don't you mean "Gurgle gurgle gurgle...."?))

"Fuck you, distant alien forms I can't really clearly see or understand!"

Your heat blade is...well a bit less then precise. It slices a mildly off kilter cut through about 80% of the fungus cannons, cutting through stalks and cannons in equal numbers. While not quite what you wanted, it seems to have been effective for the most part.

If still conscious enough, make snarky comment about how it's probably a good thing that I can't feel pain anymore before requesting medical attention. If not, drool everywhere instead and hallucinate about my pre incarceration mercenary work

*Gurgle*

"Yarr... I be thinking it's about time to take cover. Me vessel be sadly unsafe now."

Use my doom arms to carve an alcove into the side of the stone block then take shelter in it
You punch the ground repeatedly, carving out a red hot hole in the stone. That done, you lay yourself into it and hold your doom arms up above your head and torso, hoping their grand alien power will protect your squishy fleshy body.

"Don't think we have much time left now! If they keep up that bombardment, I doubt these guys over there are going to survive!"
Try to shoot the fungi artillery from there.
You sweep your laser across the remaining cannons, slicing them apart.

"Good enough. Nice clean up there. Keep an eye out for other things. Miyamoto, you need help down there, or are you good? We seem to have eliminated the snipers, but I dunno if they'll just move 'em or toss something different at us. Not sure which would be better."

Take a look at the hole Miyamoto made. Could I get to the bottom safely if I had to? Also scan the horizon, looking for anything else that's sure to be on it's way. Check the sky as well."

"I'm not entirely sure. I found the cluster, and I think I can reach it and cut it, but I'll have to doublecheck. This place is a mess of nerves. I'll work as fast as I can, but I don't wanna rush it. No way we're going back empty handed after all that trouble we went through. We might need Iveso though to come down and carefully fly it out. Or I could carefully try to climb up with it."

Crawl closer. Should I be able to cleanly cut the brain out from the surrounding nerves? How would I best go about cutting it out? And will it fit through the hole I dug up to the surface?

If I find a reasonably positive answer to these questions, and there is no real further decision on my part, then carefully start cutting out the brain. If this takes more than a single turn, that's ok, I'd rather do it slow but well.

((Hmm are you sure it is a working brain??))

Tek heard, just for a second, a voice of restraint and put down his manipulator.  Had the comb spoken to him directly?  He would have to carefully consider the possibility later, when the danger had passed.

Drag any exposed, wounded teammates to cover in trench (if there's any more room).  If someone is giving them medical treatment, wait for it to finish before pulling them into cover.

Edit: Inspired by his possible brush with divinity, Tek glanced at the sky, hoping for a sign.

Attempt to regain consciousness via the power of potent built-in suit-based medicines. And also agony.

Alright, here's the thing. It's gonna take us a little while to get this distraction set up and such, so you may want to....not cut it free yet. I dunno. It depends. Do you want to cut it free and then bet on being able to fight off a crazed but uncoordinated fungus, or hedge your bets on waiting and fighting off specialized but relatively single threats?
