"Hmm? Oh, yes. A group of us. They're all a bit frightened, however; they're not as eager to explore as I am. If you'd like, I can show you some of my magic to prove my words."

[Haspen]

"I want to speak with your companions."

"If they will come."

Noel turned slightly and raised his quill in the air, waving it back and forth slightly to indicate to his allies he was fine and things seemed safe.

[Haspen]

"_{What does this mean?}"

"_{I do not know, we didn't agree on any secret signs. Maybe he is just entertaining the centaur or something. A greeting perhaps?}"

After a moment of staring at the quill, Akk crossed his arms on his chest.

"You sure your friends aren't imaginary?"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Would you all quit hiding like scared children and just come out already?! This centaur thinks I'm crazy because of you!"

[Haspen]

There was silence for a few seconds, before Princess Rosana got bold and ventured from behind the rocks.

"Sorry! We weren't sure what you were doing with that quill."

"If that was a secret 'all is well' sign please mention us before that. And please hand the brooch back." Prince Aliberti followed after his sister, and so did the others.

"I see there is QUITE a few of you Dwellers. By the Code, I will herd you back underground else I shall leave you all here to die. What it will be."

"We are looking for a shard of a crystal ball. It could be stored somewhere under key or might be a piece of some larger item. Did you see anything like that?"

"I do not dabble in magic, and I don't care. You have to consult some two-legs scholars." Aliberti extended his hand toward Noel to take back the brooch.

[Swordstar]

Kerr frowned.

"So all the people like us live underground. Perhaps we should listen to him. Find more humans and then try and see if they know anything about a shard."

[SeriousConcentrate]

Noel handed back the brooch, unsure why Aliberti had even given it to him in the first place.

"We might as well."

[GiglameshDespair]

"It seems a better choice to seek a scholar underground, than to wander these wastes at random."

[Furtuka]

Horse person. He's a person that's a horse.  How does he...

"Yes please. Let's get going. This place is way too weird."

[Xanmyral]

"Can't help but agree. Its just... Everything's ash."

[GiglameshDespair]

"I wonder if our world will be left even this, if we fail..."

[Powder Miner]

Giuseppina opened her mouth, but then Ayzebel spoke and Giuseppina just closed it and stared, as the awfulness of the thought got to her.

[Haspen]

"Lead us to them, then, please." The centaur looked at his back, counting the carcasses of the strange animals, and then, seemingly satisfied with the count, turned around and began to move toward the mountains - the direction from the group initially came.

The pilgrimage through the wasteland has begun.

//NPC: Akk the Centaur joins the party!

Prince Aliberti followed after the centaur, and Rosana after him, and others after her. Akk did not question the humans further, and the royal siblings didn't pester him either. The silent pilgrimage amongst the heaps of ash and dust and rocks wasn't followed, nor there was anything watching them.

Only once a feathered lizard reared its head from between the rocks, hissing at the humans, but Akk wasn't interested in hunting the little beast. The lizard got bored and scurried into safety of the hills after some time, anyways.

The mountains grew closer and closer, but there was no saying how long they were walking. The sun, dimly silver disc behind the thicket of clouds, remained in its place, not edging even the slightest toward horizon. Was it an hour? Was it five hours? Who knew.

Then, the eagle-eyed Ayzebel could see a large cave entrance at the base of one of the mountains, and a small grey tower, blending and hiding againgst the background of the hills just west of the cave. The centaur continued leading them toward the cave, not paying mind to the tower.

"_{Cave coming up. There is a tower to its west, hard to spot. If we get ambushed , it will be soon. Be wary.}" Ayzebel spoke quietly, so the centaur would not hear - though it very well might anyway, considering there was little else sound but footfalls and wind.
