To clarify, since it may be unclear from the rules: chat requests go through me. Standard mafia rules are in play as well. I'll correct the oversight and add them to the OP.

Deathsword: Are attacks/protects supposed to be posted in the thread? I'd assume so, but the OP never explicitly says that.

there wouldn't be much mafia if they were pm'ed. This thread would have very little purpose.

It's public. The OP even mentions what colour to use. I'll demonstrate: TheDarkStar

I was just making sure that I understood the rules, notquitethere. Why are you so anxious to attack someone so early?

Hah, a fair question. I don't know your alignment, but given you're willing to attack me back I can surmise you're either void or wood's other ally (and thus, my enemy). As such, why should I now remove my attack?

As you attacked so early, there's a chance that you're Void. Early claims also tend to be fakeclaims, too, so there's no way to know if you're actually an ally of Wood or not.

Ah I see why you'd think that. But no, I'm definitely an ally of Wood. I'm trying to play this boldly. Otherwise, what are we going to talk about at the start of the game?

Interesting...

TheDarkStar notquitethere, good day to you two.  I see the accusations have already started.  One of these votes I will tell the mod is the real protect, the other will fail due to first day exhaustion.  How does that make you feel and can you give me a good reason to protect either of you?  I'm going to ignore NQT's claim for the moment.

This makes me feel intrigued. Well, not ignoring my claim, you should know if I could be an ally of yours. But if we ignore the claim, then there's still another reason to protect me over TheDarkStar: I'm willing to work with people from the start and not mess around with RVS questions or other nonsense.

you should know if I could be an ally of yours.
If we take your claim at face value, there is:
a 2/5 chance you are guaranteed NOT my ally (void or water/earth (whichever you are not))
a 2/5 chance you COULD be my ally (air or fire)
a 1/5 chance that you definitely ARE my ally (wood)

That's 3/5 reasons not to kill me then?

The 2/5 chance that you are an ally is also a 2/5 chance that you're not, though. There's also the obvious problem that fire or air could just start a private chat with you claiming to be wood while trying to find out if you're the ally that benefits them or not.

I guess I'd wait to see how many people privately claimed to be Wood before starting to trust any of them.

Do you think you'll vote randomly on D1, Deus?

Should we just massclaim to get rid of void right from the get go?
