Ok. Thank you, that will be easier to keep track of things with.

Now I'm going to generate stats for your characters, formalize your equipment/skills, and take into account your ability boost preferences. After that I'll create a first post for you to read etc, as a first round. This should all happen fairly quickly.

Please note that wait listed characters are still possible and encouraged. There is absolutely no guarantee that a character will not die and depending upon luck and player choice, they very well might.

Year 1154 Mid Spring, Round 1
Location(s):
Village of Cadrea, Village Hall, Court
Village of Cadrea, Central Plaza

The large wooden chamber Cadrea's Village Hall Court was incredibly well built and impressive, considered very important to calming the village in times like these.... The whole town couldn't fit in it, but in standing room only, it felt like it did, barely. Crowded to even along green wall tapestries, the restless crowd impatiently demanded answers at the line of shield bearing guards and the mayor beyond them. Those swords remained sheathed, but remained all the same as implied warning to anyone foolish enough to give reason to draw them. None did. Though someone did shout.

     "37 people! Where!?"

Mayor Goiv offhandedly answered, "Wherever they chose to be.... Am I to keep people prisoner here? They left if they wanted."

"My daughter's gone and she had every reason to stay!"

"O yes, we'll miss that one, running around causing every trouble she could think of, I'm sure. Frankly, that's one I'm thankful chose to leave and good riddance to bad rabble. You can follow her out and improve all our lives," Quipped Mayor Goiv.

"My husband's gone!" came one woman's shrill cry.

"Him and many more, tragically for some floozy no doubt. A shame really, sign of the times. What's the world coming to?" Shook the mayor's head.

"My son's gone and he wouldn't have left!"

"A thousand gold pieces for his head! He stole as much from the town coffers, the thief! If I catch him he'll pay!" harrumphed Mayor Goiv. "You want me to keep you all on leashes then? Hum? I thought that was tyranny and I shouldn't do it? Look at the lot of you coming in here all important because you can't keep your damned husband or your fool son's stolen from me! Of all people me...! I'll tell you if I find that son of yours I'll hang him from a tree for his crimes, leave him there and then you'll know exactly where he is! The hell do you all want me to do anyhow? Hum? Everybody complains and nobody has an answer, but they'll all whine. The lot of you, anybody have any suggestions? What do you want anyhow, to send the town guard out looking for these people? And where would you have them look anyhow, and for what?

There are goblins about you say? Of course there are. You can't kill them fast enough. March them off a cliff ten abreast for a year if you could and they'd still be here. What of it? Don't tell me you fools think the goblins got them. No blood. No struggle. No tracks or footprints. Nothing damaged. Nothing looted. No goblins sighted by anyone! Superstitious fools, all of you, spouting that nonsense and next you'll be causing a panic! Is that what you want then? Hum? Is it? That's probably half the reason the merchants won't come here. O yes, can't you hear them now, 'Come to Cadrea; you'll disappear without a trace and never be seen nor heard from again?' Really? You wonder why they haven't come around do you? Yes, that's a mystery for certain...."

Mayor Goiv rolled his eyes, "Go. Home. And. Shut. Yourselves. In. If you think there are goblins around, then don't go out at night, stay indoors, tell the guards if you see one and if it makes you feel better, I'll even double the guards and look into hiring more, but you can imagine they'll want to be paid and who could blame them? Until then, talk to the scribes if you have an idea, a real idea that's practical and that we can do and have them present it. 'Til then, what more do you want? Hum? Don't come back until you have more than a different flavor of the usual idle complaints." And with that Mayor Goiv left and the peasants began to file out of the Village Hall's Court, through the Foyer and out into the central plaza. Some went home, as many were quiet as were bickering fairly softly enough.

The sun begins to waver to the west, not setting yet, but threatening to in a while. This doesn't deter those sitting about the sitting height wall, or gathering water from the fountain, not yet. A guard patrols; a lumbercart strolls; and more. Some go home; others to the Inn: The Hollow Log. An old and upset man plods angrily towards the Veteran's Hall; he seems to imply he would walk over people if not for the bother. Contrasting this, an old monk in a plain brown robe gives the illusion of effortless, seemingly carefree movement weaving through the chaotically dispersing crowd with hardly a soul disturbed, least of all his. The general mood though, is not calm....

You currently stand among one another, your acquaintances, in the Central Plaza of Cadrea Village with dusk not here, but threatening to be soon enough. There are a fair deal of people and places within Cadrea that you know of. In theory, you could try going to any of them. What would occur if you got there? Will you?

Joseph's eyes flash angrily. "Bloody incompetent man. He should never have been chosen for command!" Having trained from a young age Joseph's father had taught him that wherever you are, in a battle or not, it was a leader's job to look after those in his command, and this man was doing none of that. "I say that if he won't do anything we should." He truns around on his acquantainces, "What do you guys think of that?"

Drake considered this, and cocked his head to one side. "We aren't well enough equipped, nor do we have enough people. We also need to find out why everyone is going missing." He went quiet again.

"And from what we've heard, that's going to be a heck of a chore." He said.

Rivarin shakes his head without the least bit of surprise, "Same nobles they always were. What do you wanna do about it?" Leaning on his ax, Rivarin doesn't enjoy the village smells, missing the woods already from the stench. "Any leads? Where would we start?"

"Whole thing smells rotten. 318 houses in this town and 37 people gone without a trace. Sounds real normal mayor...." Kalya stops to consider things for a minute, "This isn't a coincidence. Someone knows something."

Kayla will blend into the crowd even as it disperses and try to casually eavesdrop on any bits of conversation that might seem important or somebody complaining. Hoping to find something out and recon information a bit without being noticed.

"These people are going SOMEWHERE."

Alexi having stayed silent for awhile looks at his aquentances,"Maybe we should just start by helping find a few people or do something to help. We could start by asking around the tavern, see who needs help.

"I'll be moving towards the inn dining hall. As a copper, inebriated citizens were one of the best sources of information. I'll see what people think, maybe get some leads."

Drake heads to the inn and casually begins eavesdropping and asking people how they feel about things as they are in the town.

"You know what I think Rivarin? I think that Kayla is right, this is no accident, someone around here is profiting off  this, and I, I think that it's the mayor or one of his lackeys. So, come on, let's go pay the scribes a visit if we're careful then they'll never know why we're there." And with that he turns around and starts walking towards the Scribe Room.

Year 1154 Mid Spring, Round 2
Location(s):
Village of Cadrea, Inn: The Hollow Log

Kalya fades into the crowd. Saying nothing and listening carefully. Sorrow from some is tangible, as is a helpless feeling. You overhear many conversations, most of which have general enough complaints, but three specific ones stand out as relevant to disappeared persons. First, the thief with 1000 dollars on his head expressly said he had no desire to leave. He also left without saying a word to his girlfriend. Second, one of the young women was excited she had just secured a baker's apprenticeship. Third, another missing man was recently hired to a town watch position. These do not seem to be those wishing to leave....

The Inn: The Hollow Log, is a fairly large wooden structure in this lumber town. The Dining Hall is a massive affair with a great many tables and 4 fireplaces being stocked with an abundance of wood. Quite a few deer heads are mounted on the wall, staring out at you. This building is less impressive than the Village Hall, but that doesn't surprise you in the least. There must be 200 or so people here, eating, drinking, etc. Quite a few lumberjacks, saw wrights, and so many more, seek a great deal of things here, mostly of the edible variety.

Drake and Alexi hear similar general complaints and several rumors of goblin ghosts shifting through the walls from various people who seem to believe it or at least are sticking to their stories. One or two of the guards are very silent on the issue and state that they can't talk about it, which is actually probably true from what you know about the mayor. They do say that there have been no goblin sightings at all near the town lately, and perhaps they're telling the truth, or not.

One person seems to be incredibly focused without appearing to be putting forth effort to do so, a bald monk in a plain brown robe stands strikingly still among all the others. He ever so calmly approaches you, "Well wishes. The birds say you are seeking the lost. The flock has been poached and we know not the hunters. The wind far is too quiet. The temple has enlightenment; come to it." He softly nods his head ever so slightly, looking over at the door with his head slowly turning to it and then back to you.

Joseph seems to be the only person at this time intent upon going to the scribe room in the Village Hall. You notice a relatively small, and plain room made of wood where there is a long counter leading up to a window next to a clearly locked door. At that window is an older man who does not seem to have much in the way of patience. He notices you and seems to raise an eyebrow. He says as if he had said this a million times before, "Yes?"

(Note: Robot Parade Leader, Rivarin needs an action or else I can just have him follow Drake and Alexi I presume. He may still move independently though...)

Drake nods. "I will be happy to follow any lead. We will lose more people before long, I expect, so I had better hurry."
Drake follows the monk back to his temple.
