So, yes. Looks like we are getting close to being ready, so suggestions for the unit name, and planet backstory, aswell as starting to make chars would be good.

As for chars, please dont make a specialist class, just normal unit types. We will probably need a medic and a Sargent, so...

Yep.

Specialists are any besides the base six or so? (Support specialists, ie non-guardsmen?)

Heavy, Medic, Operator, Sergeant and Weapon Specialists are the non-specialist class, despite some of the names.

I would kinda like to be an Operator, if possible. I know we're gonna be a guerrilla-type regiment but we'll still need people who can operate equipment from time to time.

Keep it simple. Maybe a feudal world that was smacked hard by an asteroid, killing most of the population and leaving the rest in dire straits.

Well, not revert. Just got worse. I just chose ice age because the GM chose Taiga for the unit. FAKEEDIT: Then I searched what taiga was and realized I was dumb. Feudal world would be better, though wouldn't the PDF be able to take care of the asteroid?

Or is that chosen by me, and not by all of you? If so, iceage might do it. Possibly brought on by, say, a super volcano going off...

I was under the impression that a lot of feudal worlds don't exactly have PDFs because they lack the technology base to maintain them. Those worlds are mostly left alone by the Imperium until it's tithe time, and getting conscripted into the guard because most other resources have been destroyed would handily explain why we got recruited.

And an asteroid impact could throw up a lot of radioactive materials into the atmosphere. Especially if the asteroid itself were rich in such metals.

They would still have a PDF of sorts, since, well, its the feudal system. Everyone has their little army...

As it is, what with the bonus to getting tech thats not massively advanced working, I would think that it was a more advanced world.

its just that some of the things they talk about they dont really explain. Mostly the whole selection of those three things...

Ill probably wind up picking it, itll probably be cold. Yah, lets have it resistance to cold, since you all will be in the taiga.

Also, Sirus, feel free to become a operator. You guys probably wont be starting with a car though, so you'll probably wild up being the resident tech guy.
