SHIP MODIFICATION

Initial ship:

Converted to:

Weak Laser converted to Weapon Modification Points [+2]
2x Standard Reactor converted to Reactor Modification Points [+4]
Standard Jump Drive converted to FTL Modification Points [+2]
Automated Bridge converted to Sensor Modification Points [+2]

Weapon Modification Points [6]
Reactor Modification Points [4]
FTL Modification Points [2]
Sensor Modification Points [2]

Mods available:

Weapon mods
-Unstable Capacitor [4][2] +1 Damage Tier, -20% Accuracy
-Overcharged Capacitor [2][2] Can only be fired while overcharged, +1 Damage Tier when overcharged, +1 overcharge power requirement
-In-Built Sensors [2][2] +15% Accuracy
-In-Built Reactor [2][2] +2 Power(can not be redistributed)

Reactor mods
-Unstable Reactor [2][2] +5 Power, always explodes when damaged, +2 Damage Tier on explosion
-Stabilized Reactor [2][2] -2 Damage Tier on explosion
-Overclocked Reactor [2][2][2][RADIOACTIVE] Tripled Power Output, always explodes when damaged, +6 Damage Tier on explosion

FTL mods
-In-Built Reactor [2][2] +2 Power(can not be redistributed)

General
-Heavily Armoured [8] Can take +4 damage before being disabled

Mods can be stacked.
Mods can be applied at any time. During combat, the modded module will be inactive for 1 round after being modded.

Radiation level: Extremely high

Known Locations:
[E2] Gaunti Conglomerate planet [Have: New Sedna identification code]

You repeat the same process as the last time. You attach most of the modules, rearrange the ones you already had and scrap the leftovers for their more valuable parts. You are once again highly radioactive and will need to vent it all. As your ship is larger, it will take a bit more time this time.

You have similar options as before. You can explore the belts or visit one of the planets if you so desire. You may also try your luck with the Gaunti Conglomerate planet. There is also the option of waiting for the Gaunti Conglomerate ships to return and setting up an ambush against them. Or you may do something else you come up with.

What do you do next?

Which one? There are 3, one with an identifiable threat level.

I suggest to mod our central weak laser with - Unstable Capacitor [4][2] + -In-Built Sensors [2][2] +15% accuracy

It will give us a +1 tier weapon for -5% accuracy, nice tradeoff

Lets use the ancient naval art of training war parrots. No one will realize they have been boarded by space war parrots until it is to late!
You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.
