“Indeed it is. Not the most difficult one I’ve ever set.” He smiles.

“Now, I would like to help you, but I cannot do so quite as open handedly as I have been doing for much more. And so, the third riddle is…. difficult. You may ask your question after you give your answer.” He pauses for another moment, pulling himself up to his full - albeit small - height.

“How many orcs does it take to do my washing?”

"Orcs are the denizens of these levels. Did you not encounter the three goblins outside the Chamber? They are but one type of orc. This floor is populated by another type - more suited to manual work."

Regina shrugs. She seems a bit miffed.

"The question is nonsense-it has no answer. It's a joke, not a riddle. I'm sure we will not find the answer amusing. Croken have giant teeth, long snouts, and scaly tails. They don't do laundry.

I will say we guess None, as well-just so we keep moving."

“All incorrect. The answer is four, each set to ensure the job is complete. Any less, and they forget what they are doing, and have none to remind them. Any more, and they fight for who should do what, doing nothing. An empirical answer, but an answer nonetheless.

Sadly, you do not receive my boon. You do still have a question however. I will assume your friend's riddle is not it.”

He pauses a moment, glancing briefly at the blackboard on the righthand wall.

“Though if he wishes for an answer, there is no bear.”
