I was going more along the lines of desensitize. There a movie(can't find it's name right now and I don't want to go through Cracked for it) which had a massive bloody shootout which got it the R-rating and thus they couldn't release it. The makers simply kept resubmitting with the scene in different tints(thus the movie was 'edited' so they could resubmit it) until the judges were so desensitized to the blood it got a 18. I (like to) believe the makers were similar desensitized by 'triangle heart' that MLGN relativity tame 'fanservice' got through unquestioned.

To be clear about my standing, I found it distracting from the story and ignored it to focus on said story.

Casandra looks down and sighs. She rearranges the papers so that they're ordered by period of her classes. She can just work on the latter half at lunch so falling asleep isn't that big of a deal. That dream though... that was odd.
"Oh well, no sense dallying on silly things like that."
Cassandra gets up and goes down stairs to get a can of coffee for breakfast.

Irene wakes up feeling super tired out, as if she jumped through a shredder with her brain intact but pulsing. Her head felt like on the verge of a splitting headace and she knew today was school.

"DAD! Can I skip going in today?" She already knew the answer but wanted to know that he was awake. He walks in his suit already on tying his tie. Today he was wearing almost all black with white striple lines running down his jacket and pants. "Nope. If you miss school someone may draw up charges against  me again. Jeez, all you kids do is read books and answer questions for brownie points. What's so hard about that?" he said in a very serious tone."

"Getting up and dealing with you for one.." She said sarcastically as her father cut her off and left the room.

Irene gets dressed prepares for school today not caring too much having her books as long as she has her basics down. Text books and a copy of Atlas shrugged.

 She later had to attend her college prep classes that her dad wants her to go to starting today. Those had an entirely separate book bag and books.

After two days of sitting quietly in her room and barely recognizing any attempts at communication from her family, Lillian's brother got fed up and forcibly dragged her kicking and screaming to school today. She is currenlty sitting in class looking like a cornered animal.

Lillian's fears increase a little as she winders about her friend Hitomi. Did she run into those monsters as well? She had been... distant recently.

After going through her morning routine, Sarah head to school, devouring her snack. It would of been better heated.

She arrives at the hallow halls of learning and head to her homeroom. The teacher nods his white haired head at her appearance. Seem you are early.

Casandra

Cass downs her caffeine. It a nice blend.

Irene

Irene get her bag packed.

Lillian

Tossed by her brother, Lillian hides in the corner of her homeroom. Her purple haired teacher give a concern look, but doesn't ready to jump in.

Hitomi

Getting to your feet, you see that you got time to eat breakfast and wash if you hurry.

General knowledge

For ease of bookkeeping, Casandra and Sarah are together in 'white haired teacher(m)' homeroom and Hitomi, Lillian and Irene are in 'Purple haired teacher(F)

Cass shakes herself out. Always a good way to wake yourself up further and get the blood pumping. To bad it's a school day, otherwise she'd watch the news in case her escapades were featured. You know, feed that small bit of pride she has. But, she can't wait, so she grabs her phone and leaves the house with her school stuff, resolving to get some breakfast on the way there. And plus she can look at the news on the way as well.
