You know, about a third to half of the time spent writing this turn was dedicated to how much damage that 5 on the damage roll would do. It wasn't enough to cleave the head but would it be fatal? Considering that it was a more-or-less perfectly-aimed hit, the area was entirely unprotected, and the weapon used was an axe, I decided that yes, it would be fatal.
Delekates, your character has 2 extra points to spend for a total of 6 points. I highly suggest both of you spend all your points before you go in the arena next turn since they won't ever be of use to you after combat starts.

Once more you are both awakened by the sound of a horn being blown. Arming and armouring yourselves, you walk through the portal and enter the arena once more. Unlike yesterday when it was high noon it seems to be morning now, the light of the sun only hitting half of the arena. Also unlike last time, you now have a spectator. An old, heavily muscular man with a beard and long white hair. At his side is a large two-handed sword of some kind with a faint red glow. You realise who this man must be, and he begins to speak...

You charge Delekates with the intent to chop off a limb or two when you spot the low-lying wall she's set up. It's easy enough to reach over and attack her[2+2(DEX)+1(Axe skill) vs 7-3(crouched)+2(AGI)] but you mess up the aim of the strike, giving her the opportunity to jump back and prepare her spear. You can vault over the ice wall and risk getting impaled by her spear (Delekates gets first initiative and +1 to attack), run around the wall and attack her but giving her the opportunity of vaulting the wall herself, or smash the chest-high wall down with your axe. At this angle it would be easy.
