I assumed me parried Vander's attack due to his shield and DEX bonus, but tell me if you want to dodge from now on.
Should I make bleeding out give -1 INT as well?
Should I change the parry rules so that damage is dealt from the difference in rolls? What about with a modifier of -2 or something?

((I'll know if someone's at close range using intuition. You had chest armour but he got an 8 on his damage roll (using a d10) which your armour isn't strong enough to block or even resist against. I judged that getting stabbed in the chest and having a lung punctured would stun someone at least for a little while and that's why you didn't attack. I don't see any mistakes with your build, it just seemed to be a pair or unlucky rolls (for you). If he had a higher Aim roll, he could've hit your heart and you'd be dead by next turn's end, assuming he got a high enough damage roll. If he got an even higher Aim roll he would've succeeded hitting your head - your very unprotected head - and would've killed you instantly with a 6 or more.))

RNG hated you.
New rule - shields will now give +1, +3, and +5 chance to parry attacks for Small, Medium, and Large shields respectively from now on. For M shields, counter-attacking will only be allowed if two counter-attack conditions are met and L shields require three, the conditions being the defending getting a critical success, the attacker getting a critical failure, or a successful defence with a total roll difference of 10 or more. The counter-attack rule applies for both dodging and parrying.
Fun fact: I didn't even notice that everyone had posted. I thought I'd have to wait till morning until everyone did when three hours after Hawk's post I noticed everyone was done. Sorry for the delay, I guess.
