Also, you use a ton of Forests in your maps. Could replace like half of them with planes to balance out resources/make the games go faster.

You're getting plenty of food. Ten or so more per turn won't make much of a difference. And you'll want the wood later on.

I'm not saying for this game; just that if you're going to be sparing with stone, you may as well be sparing with wood, and give a bit more food so we can expand to the forests and mountains as necessary. It's just a bit excessive at the moment, in this game, for example. 10 Food would actually make a difference, and I simply don't need 23 wood per turn, especially when I only have 1 Stone income.

Water tiles give 2 Food in this ruleset. Expand onto those if you want more food

Oh, I saw that, and have been. I actually really like the change, as it gives incentive to expand onto Oceans. I just think you go a bit overboard with Forests anyway. No need to get defensive about it; it's my opinion and a suggestion, nothing more.

In the southeast, cities continue to spring up as growth slows elsewhere on the islands. The Wintercliff Mercenaries make it known that they are willing to contract out their ancestral fleets to the command of the budding nations.

You may enter or increase a bid at any time before the turn ends. The player with the highest bid (that is capable of paying it) will tell the Wintercliff Mercenaries how to use their troops for the next 5 turns.
