Welcome!Well, actually it’s more like the descendants of the slayers of Kad-Kabul. Just read the story.
Dunland is a large colonial empire that has taken over a very large portion of the known world. In the year 458 a Dunnish explorer found an undiscovered continent filled with people known as the Bokurans. In terms of technology, they were not that far behind the rest of the world, which was especially impressive considering they had been largely isolated by such a large ocean.
Dunland, being the hungry massive empire that it is, spent no time negotiating before they invaded the new continent now known as Bokura. It was the year 472 when they invaded. The Bokurans put up quite the fight, but they really stood no chance against an empire that already controlled most of the world.
In a time of desperation, when the Bokurans were nearing defeat, and their largest city, known as Rom-Bokura was being sieged, the Bokurans took drastic actions. They released Kad-Kabul. An ancient legend to most Bokurans, but as it turns out he was simply locked away. Their decision immediately backfired as the dark mage Kad unleashed his hellish nightmares on Bokurans and Dunmen alike.
The Dunnish rallied a special battalion known as the 108th New Dunnish Battalion. They were tasked with infiltrating Rom-Bokura and killing Kad-Kabul. These men and women were some of the most skilled fighters in the Dunnish military Approximately 500 men and women burst through the walls of Rom-Bokura. At the end of the battle, half of the Dunnish forces were killed by Bokurans, and the rest by Kad-Kabul. Only twelve people survived and they were taken captive.
After such a massive defeat, the Dunnish military was forced to retreat and gather more forces. Dunland spent two months gathering forces. Nearly 7000 men were gathered, while the twelve captives rotted in Kad’s torture chambers. Meanwhile Kad took control of what remained of the Bokuran government and proceeded to bend the law to his will. Forcing Bokurans to sacrifice their children to him for his sick experiments with dark magic.
When Dunland made its final assault on Rom-Bokura, all of the Bokuran forces in the city were forced to help defend, which allowed the captives to escape. Using their individual skills they manage to fight their way through Kad’s Keep until they reached Kad-Kabul’s perch: a large platform that overlooked most of the city. Amongst the chaos of the battle the twelve slayers were able to kill Kad-Kabul and allowed the Dunnish forces to successfully take Rom-Bokura.
In the aftermath of the war, the twelve slayers of Kad-Kabul were given massive amounts of praise, wealth, and power. The city was renamed New Ledlin and Bokura was renamed New Dunland. The Bokurans were relocated and given their own small chunk of the continent now know as the Independent State of Bokura.
The people now known as the great slayers experienced a fair deal of turmoil between themselves. A lot of things happened in the cell they were all kept in... horrible things. Three slayers being the ones who were responsible for most of these horrible things, used their new political power and resources to persecute the other nine slayers. Many of the other slayers died or lost most of their resources to the three’s harsh political campaign. The three then became the King of New Ledlin, the Commander of New Ledlin’s military, and the wealthiest man in New Ledlin. Their persecution of the other slayers paid off and now they are considered to three of the most noble people in New Dunland.
Who are you? You are one of the descendants of the twelve slayers nearly two centuries into the future.
Welcome to New Ledlin!
This game is an objective based game that is highly dependent on story and roleplay. Each hero/faction is assigned goals. The goal of the game is to achieve your goals by any means necessary, while also roleplaying for your character.
This is sneaky sort of game, so it’s important to keep your character and their role a secret from most other people. Every characters goals conflict with at least one other person’s goals, so know who your friends are.
Each turn is one week’s time in game and for the sake of simplicity four turns will be one month. When posting actions, please don’t put more than one person (or faction) could reasonably do in one week. What I mean is that you should not have 22 actions every turn. That will slow the game significantly. Also, if you could make a bulleted list (maybe using hyphens) I would really appreciate that as well.
After a turn has been posted, you will have one week to post your next turn. If you do not post in time, you will be put on autopilot for that turn, and please, do not sign up for this game if you can’t really commit to it. If you do not post for two turns consecutively, you will be out of the game. This game might take a while, which leads me to my next point: This game will eventually end. There will be winners and there will be losers.
Each turn you will post your actions in a spoiler, and if you forget something you can PM that to me. You can also just PM me any actions you are really afraid of people cheating. If there is any evidence that someone has been peaking at another player's actions, you will be ejected from the game immediately and promptly replaced. I really have zero sympathy for cheaters. Seriously.
When doing a joint action, all people involved should have a spoiler that essentially says the action that they are going to do together. This is just so I can have solid validation that everyone agrees to it.
If you haven’t met another slayer and you want to research/talk to them , put it in your actions, and I will talk to them about it. Direct contact with players you haven’t met is prohibited. If you know another slayer, I will tell you. Once you know them in game, you can start communication with them freely. Feel free to talk to each other OOC though.
I will be rolling for a lot of actions and things, but not for every action and thing in the game. If it’s something really simple, I won’t role for it. In some cases, if an action requires a roll, there may be no chance of failure and I will just do a “degree of success” roll. Most of the rolls will be done on a D6, but some may be on a D8, D10, or D20. The rolls will not be shown.
EVEN IF THE GAME HAS STARTED YOU CAN STILL GET IN. Just please don't post your application. Private message me your application.
If you post the word “IN” you’re not likely to get in, because that isn't how you get in. This will sort of be first come first serve. I may or not let you into the game depending on what is taken though, and what I think of your application (if it fits any characters).
There are seven heroes and five factions. A total of twelve slots for players. All heroes/factions are pre-made and cannot be changed. Your application will determine which one you will get. If you say “I wanna be the king” I will take that into consideration, but you should tell me, why you would make a good king.
To sign up, PM me something like this or post below:
Desired Player Type: Hero, Faction, or Either
Roleplay: What you roleplay best at and what you like to roleplay as. (helps determine which character you get)
Availability Preference: Tell me your conditions for playing. Does it have to be exactly what you want? Or will you settle for something else if what you want isn’t available? How much do you care about what you want.
Where Would You Say You Fall Politically: Some characters may be harder to roleplay if you are more conservative, liberal, or moderate (Are you a feminist?). This is the main reason I’m having you guys PM this to me. I don’t want to start any political debates.
When considering roles, it’s important to note that there are a wide variety of heroes, and factions. Also, each hero or faction leader may or may not be a complete douchebag, so you may want to include whether or not you care if you have to roleplay as that kind of person if you’re going to play. Know that I am more likely to let you in the game if you show yourself to be open to trying anything. The more open you are, the more likely you are to get in.
A FAIR WARNING: There are a lot of heavy topics that are prevalent in this game, so if you’re not sure you want a character that has to deal with that, then you may also want to include that in your application. I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable, and I will try to be sensitive about what makes you uncomfortable in game and when selecting your character/faction.
I will try to keep the “what’s available” section as up to date as possible.
I’m sure there will be quite a few of them. You can PM them to me or post them below. I will post answers to your questions in the section below, so that others can read them, and I won’t get the same question again. Please make sure the Question you’re asking hasn't already been answered below.
