Even a simple yes speaks volumes. Most will add a few extra lines explaining it. You will get your answer from it though.
I do, but only if they bring good things, if there goods please me, I trade peacefully (unless i relly need it or am in a bad mood, then I rob them blind) if they fail to bring anything good I will do anything from rob them for the fun of it, to kill the.

That sums up my attitude.

Sometimes when I inadvertantly trade something that is decorated with wood with the elves... and they leave and I need wood... Call the military !

What's the best thing you have ever got from them by trade.

"Do your nobles live comfortably?"
No... wait, I've worded that wrong -
"Do your nobles live?"

I haven't checked since I'm not doing bugs until after the release (well, I'm doing bugs, in the additive sense).

I've had elves bring various bears, large felines i.e. lions, tigers etc., and best of all, giant versions of large felines. Giant Lions? Yes Please!

A breeding pair of grizzlies. A breeding pair of king cobras. An elephant (sadly not a breeding pair)

Do you mod or play using mods?  Which mods do you prefer and if you use a personal mod what are the highlights?

"What was your favourite update?"

Works well enough to distinguish which aspects of DF they're interested in, whether it's the history generation, content updates, mechanics changes, etc etc.  Of course, the question kinda falls apart if they weren't there when the update happened, eg. z-levels intro.
But what about us who were here for the z-level intro? :P

But yea these all seem to be really good questions that really give you a lot of info about a person's playstyle. I particularly like the Military vs traps vs megatraps(for lack of a better word). Pretty much lets you know how the entire entrance areas of the fort are laid out.

Another couple questions: In fort mode do you prefer form or function on your architecture?
In adventure mode will you attempt to save your recruits at risk of your own character or are they simply meatshields meant to be used and discarded?

1. Do you take any steps towards improving Dwarf welfare?
2. Do you prioritize Fun over Function?
3. Do you self-impose restrictions for narrative purposes? (Such as not using a cheap solution to a deadly problem, or undertaking a challenge).

Do you use bins and/or stockpiles?

Do you have 1-2 specialized dwarves for each job or a bajillion dwarves with a bunch of labours enabled?

Good questions.
- I used to use bins, but now I tend to use quantum stockpiles.
- My start seven do all the jobs. But after that I just don't care, unless I find some jobs not being done.

My question:

How do you make clothes?
Make full set?
Make only what necessary?
Scavenge goblinite/elvenite?
Buy?

I made the survey in question. It's on a site called Clever Surveys, which makes predictions from survey answers. I was inspired by the Dwarf Fortress scenario generator to make a survey that predicts goals and challenges for people.

The site requires surveys to have normal responses before making predictions. That's what I'm linking here:
