Ah, cool, you're right. It took a full refresh of the page to get the images to show up. Odd that Firefox didn't automatically refresh like it normally does.

I've never had a fort build right to left like that (with left being the heart of the mountain). did he just reverse the image for the layout?

Yup. They don't do it too often, but that's one instance where they did  :)

And likewise, it was that article last year that got me hooked on DF  :D

On that Games for Windows article they had a picture of the world map in the background, but rotated 90°.  :roll: I guess they wanted to make it look more confusing?

I guess in the PC gamer one they just wanted the blank area on the left page.

Since when is archery in barracks a fatal mistake?

Ive done it with every fortress I ever made that had a military, and it works quite nicely, it's just a matter of how you arrange it.

Nothing like keeping your army in shape by having them constantly dodge bolts. No wonder some of them develop unbelievable agility!
