When the arguments rent the council apart, only Rhaken attempted to mediate between the sides, for 4maskwolf stood paralyzed by indecision.  Only 4maskwolf and Rhaken refused to take sides, but who knows if ones true alleigance is as they say...
Pretty much what I expected.

I'm not OMGUSing, or flailing for that matter. I'm voting you for the active lurk, and I would be voting you even if you voted for someone else.
Call the presses. 5 pages in and I'm active lurking when I had yet to even post.  [/rollseyes]
You're right, in that it's hard to say you've been lurking.
However, he's right that posting lots of tiny things like that in short bursts with little to no information involved is scummy.
He's also right that the post referenced did not contain anything that looked like a claim, and that the n-word post was pretty much pointless and only exists to inflate your post count and buddy yourself with OSG.
I'm also confused as to your vote. It's not an RVS vote, despite your claim, since it's attached to an accusation of setting up a buddy and a quote of his answer to somebody else's question.
Between the two of you, Playergamer seems more calm and collected and you seem more spastic and flaily right now.

We do tend to frown upon sarcasm (at least most of us), and while it's not inherently scummy, it's one of the first defenses I've found that scum reach for. Because it's hard to bluff if you're caught lying, but sarcasm can be explained away.

Roo

1.) it definitely is an RVS vote that turned serious. No person in their right mind would think that I was serious since his answer seemed fairly standard to a random question. You'd have to be high to think that the vote was serious.
2.)regarding my posting deal with it. I wasn't here for the game start and was catching up.
3.) I will forever be dumbfounded at the inability of people to see posts for what they are. osg was talking about df I was saying i agreed with what he was saying. It was barely even related to the game. it seems an especially useless thing to harp on. Granted yes this game doesn't make sense if we don't read into what people are saying. but saying my agreeing with someone's philosophy on df gameplay is buddying then holy shit.
4.) That's why he's scum. He's scared to show emotion and wants to be cool and collected.

Sarcasm doesn't work well without a tone of voice, roo. Anyway, my vote is not in response to your vote, but rather in response to the whole post stream, which gives almost no information while taking up a lot of space. The lurking call was probably a bit fast, yes, but I'm still suspicious.

Quote me something and tell me what I should think it is town or scum? go ahead any somethings.
OK, can do. See these spoilers.
Spoiler: Quotes from Roo (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Posts by Peradon (click to show/hide)

Roo Please tell me you can understand what I'm trying to say by this. Please, when posting, combine quotes into one post instead of rapid-firing them, and please put more thought into what you're saying instead of antagonizing the other players.

Peradon Who, if anyone, would you vote first based on a purely gut-based instinct and previous games with them? Based on the early day 1 banter?

Playergamer Do you define "Active-lurking" as something different from "Lurking", and is "Active-lurking" separate from "Day 1 lurking" and exempt to it's rules?

I define active-lurking as attempting to avoid attention by posting without substance. You don't necessarily have to be lurking, you just have to not be contributing anything useful with your posts. I believe that active-lurking still shouldn't be lynchable day 1, since some townies just try to duck attention the day 1 so they can pick up the pieces day 2, but roe's reaction to my vote has been pretty scummy.

Playergamer by far. If you look at roo's other games, like the current GBU and the BM, he was basically exactly like he is now. He comes from(I think) a different site, probably with a pure RVS, and with a very aggressive playstyle. Playergamer is voting or him based on null-posting and active lurking. We are one RL day in the game, how can you be active lurking? That makes no sense at all.

Roo, I highly suggest you alter your playstyle, because you are making people really mad. First off, you could try to keep this clean, saying the n-word just makes people want to lynch you. Second, try making your posts a little less aggressive and more comprehensive.

okay since roo has reacted not-scummily to buddying allegations i can talk about that and i must say that friendliness and agreement are different from buddying, which is deliberate ingratiation. we can be nice to each other and rally the militia together like the coolradtastic fortress overseers that we are, while still playing a good, not pathos-biased game.

anyways, roo is mislynch bait again, scum would be more polite. i can relate with him not asking people questions, because i mean come on it is day 1. also it is by far easier to just watch for things that catch your attention rather than possibly skewing your read on someone by investing a push on them. i personally cannot find it in myself to push until d2, when there are flips and wagons already.

also why is good reasoning seen as towny? i really dont get it. intent is by far more important, not that i can read it all that well.

on that note, imma vote
Playergamer
i want to see the lynch flavor more than anything else right now. maybe the lynchee gets tossed into the darkness thing.

@mod: can we get a votecount or something to that effect?

Because scum tend to not have good reasoning, due to them having to build false cases.

As debate continued, Guardian Dani requested a show of hands for who was suspected as a killer.

Dani, your vote for me seems awfully wagony. You don't give any reason for voting me except "wanting to see the lynch flavor."

As for you, Peradon, I withdrew my claim of active-lurking after he said he just couldn't get to line. However, the null posts, plus his reaction to me pushing him, seems amazingly scummy, with sarcasm, insults, the like.

i find that town cares less about presentation than scum. sarcasm and insults right off the bat are unnecessary, but i would have recommended a roo lynch if he had tried to appease you instead. i should probably reread the interaction. i'll do that tomorrow.

my vote is wagony? guess i should take the vote off of you, then.
yep, taking it off seems like a good idea.

Ok, I'm going to try something....

As the arguing was beginning to  heat up, and accusations were flying across the room, one Guardian stands up. Peradon shouts out: "Enough! We are missing one key fact here: There is one here who we have not considered could be the culprit. 4maskwolf!" He says, pointing right at 4mask. "He has more than enough motive, being the second in command, and more than enough power. Pray, tell, 4mask, what makes you not a suspect in this hideous crime?"

Origamiscienceguy seconds. "Yes! Why would he not pick a side? If he did, the argument would be over quickly. He must be trying to tear this council apart!

Playergamer nods, quieting down for a second.

"Perhaps you have a point, sir Peradon! 4mask, sir, why are you letting this council fight and kill each other?"

* 4maskwolf sighs

Your flavor is wrong, so I'm going to ignore the incorrect parts of that.  4maskwolf is the defacto leader of the group, with Rhaken his right hand Guardian.

Guardian 4maskwolf gazed down upon the group, then sighed slowly and stood.  He walked amidst the other Guardians and asked, "My friends, for centuries we have protected the universe from threats both internal and external.  And every time a threat arose, we decided, as a council, on the correct course of action.  Do you really believe that we should throw aside such centuries of compromise in the face of one tragedy?"

"Do you wish to judge me as the culprit of this heinous crime?  If that is truly your wish, I will submit myself to your judgement as a fellow Guardian.  Whatever vengeance you have planned will be carried out as you see fit.  But I sense there is something more going on here, something beyond what we have realized.  It has faded now, but shortly following Guardian Rhaken's destruction I sensed traces of the same darkness that has burst into our universe around the site of his final death.  Make of that what you will."
