ACTIONS AND PLAY:Summation:
Action Location: Anya and you are inside apt 1001 Lonnie's Apt.
Positioning: You take point, Anya is behind you against wall.
Actions Attempted: Throw Lonnie from the Balcony *Success
Search the Area (I assumed whole apartment but more specific next time please) *Success
It appears Lonnie's head is quite bashed in and there is a significant series of dents compounding to mean the upper half of his head is effectively destroyed. There is blood basically everywhere, and there's a little bit on you, but not much. Anya is still up against the wall trying to regain her composure. She starts walking around to close all the doors in the apartment, to both bedrooms, the bathroom, etc. She makes a note to check them later to make sure there are no other guests of Lonnie ready to shamble around....
It is immediately apparent that the thing you saw on Lonnie's arm is a bite mark.... You pick up Lonnie's quite dead corpse and can't help but drip blood on the carpet as you hoist him and head towards the balcony for the grim task you have in mind.... Over the rail he goes as you watch him fall 10 stories to the ground and greenspace lawn below.... His decaying flesh splatters and breaks apart into a gory spectacle, even from this height. Your own balcony is immediately to the south of Lonnie's and you can see your patio furniture there. Looking about you, you can also see Mortin's Grocery store with it's parking lot containing several cars. You can see the various apartment buildings on Galley Street and the electrical substation tower a few buildings north and across the street. You can't easily see it but the post office is also up the street to the north as well, and you remember that being there.
Then of course there's the street itself, quite different from what you remember it being four days ago. The same shambling corpses you've seen over the past four days are still down there, or perhaps similar enough ones. It's hard to count but there must be dozens at least, perhaps a couple hundred up and down the length of the street in your vision. Old, young, rich and poor, death is the great equalizer and never discriminates while welcoming all, and they're all on a slow parade around the local area it seems.... The traffic conditions are a mess and the road contains several car accidents. You count about 7 or eight car wrecks along the street from what you can only imagine were desperate people trying to get out. You're too high to gain a lot of details, but it's a matter of simple guesswork to realize it's not good down there, as an understatement.
As it is in your apartment, Lonnie's similar design was an open kitchen off the living room. There are a large amount empty liquor bottles where you found Lonnie, mostly whiskey and Johnny Walker labels. They could be useful as containers, perhaps. Upon looking in the open kitchen off the living room (no distinguishing door and an open floor plan on those two rooms), you find a surprising amount of full liquor bottles, as one would have expected those to have been drunk as well. There is surprisingly little food and you wouldn't want to eat any of it, as it appears Lonnie preferred to drink his meals in liquid fermented form.
You find the following in the kitchen as items of note:12 full Bottles of
Johnny Walker Black Label 8 Full Bottles of
Vodka80 Empty Bottles of Johnny Walker Black Label spread about where Lonnie was
It strikes you as somewhat odd that even being a drunk that Lonnie evidently was, he would have so much liquor, and for almost all of it to be of the same type. Moreover, you realize that Johnny Walker Black Label is a fairly expensive alcoholic brand. You are an accountant, all told with 100 bottles of Alcohol, there must have been $1000, $2000, a few thousand really, worth of liquor in Lonnie's place and he drank the overwhelming majority of it. It's unlikely that he could have gotten his hands on so much under usual circumstances. There's also the matter of how he got that bite mark.... It occurs to you that Lonnie may well have gone looting for his favorite vice and it ended up being doubly the end of him....
To save time just this once (and because I was unsure of exactly what areas you wanted to check), I will assume you check the bedrooms and bathroom. No additional people, infected, or zombies are found within. All rooms are rather bare and it becomes apparent what Lonnie's priorities were.... You find the usual personal effects such as extremely casual clothing, razors for shaving, and personal hygiene products like soap, shampoo, etc. The room has a mattress with no bed frame. It is generally filthy and needs to have been picked up after, Lonnie clearly did not. The second bedroom is oddly unused and vacant with no furniture whatsoever, completely bare.
