"Some kind of fungus? I 'unno."

Take a sample of this stuff and move on. Check Door E.

You scratch a sample into your pocket.

Door E appears to closed but not locked. You pull it open with some effort and enter in. This room has large table in center and six chairs around it, various cabinets and coffee maker on counter on northern wall. Two windows open towards cargo holds. On the table is few scattered papers.

Exit the room, and go to room D.

This is a empty store room, with exception of stain on the wall and Arvin.

Get over to the othert ship using the boat.

The boat comes over after a call on radio and brings you onto the cargo ship.

Your equipment:
Life jacket
Body armor
Auto Shotgun (29/30)
2 extra clips
Waterproof headlamp (off)
Length of rope
Wetsuit (waiting in the boat)

Stairs up to end at into small closed space. Door to the hallway is closed.

Steeple fingers, rest chin on hands. Keep watching the radar.

Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, there's nothing exciting in radar beyond the barely floating cargo ship. Talking about that, if the ship is deemed salvageable, do you have a plan to get it into proper shape without capsizing it? Pumping all water out of open cargo hold and engine section is not easy task.

Look around, clear up all that nasty fog of war in the room, then check the papers. Do they look waterlogged?

open the door
"found one room! may be the pilot's area or what ever it is called, I am not a sailor."

The door opens into a pleasantly dry and empty hallway. On almost opposite side of your door is another closed door. You step into hallway and look around.

There's... traces of something begin dragged along the floor. Something that bled red liquid. Probably humans. The blood on the floor is dried. Traces lead from door #2 and its opposite opening to north outside, past the life boat that is still in its position. On south you can see similar trace of dried blood coming from door #5 and going past open doors that block your vision to south. Based on light glowing from that direction you guess the doors to outside are open there as well.

Look around, clear up all that nasty fog of war in the room, then check the papers. Do they look waterlogged?

At some point of time these papers definitely had contact with water. Currently they are relatively dry. Papers seems to be some sort of listing, but ink is smeared enough to make it unreadable. Others... have suffered same fate. Impossible to read, but text is more spread out, more like a letter or instruction set. Or really it could be anything.

Examine the stain.

Something was splattered here, it trickled down a bit and then dried.

Another clipping shot, but the bird falls down into water where you can easily grab it and snap its neck. After another two shots you have three dead seagulls in your hands.

Check out Room H, then. If there's nothing important (as in demanding anything in the way of immediate response) to see in there, move on to Room G after dispelling fog of war in H.

would turn on the radio and say "Blood...lots of blood. so much blood. Possible survivors? Chance of survivors is...minimum, but still chance" Would then follow the bottom trail to its source

"If the monsters get you, just start screaming into the radio so we know when to run."
