The Almost War: Mission 1
« on: March 14, 2015, 02:52:20 pm »

Nearly four days ago, you left aboard Mar Zhiqiang's airship. After a quick refueling stop, you headed straight West, out to sea. You mission, as the captain explained, is to steal the safebox from the ship Pazou, to be found at these coordinates on this date:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
According to the captain, you're getting close. There's a thick blanket of fog lying close over the ocean this morning, though at your cruising altitude, you sit above it. You haven't seen any ships since you lost sight of land, but, as some may well be aware, should any distress call come from here, a Fire Nation or Earth Empire ship would likely be able to respond within an hour.

Mission roster:
Mar Zhiqiang (Elfeater)
Shojo (OrangeWizard)
Mysterious waterbender, aka "Mr Akiyama" (Yourmaster)
Lei Tao (Cryxis)
Lu Bu (kj1225)
Hakka (Cheesecake) May or may not be an active participant.

Character sheets can be found here: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=147505.msg5948930#msg5948930

Mar adjusts the maps on his desk, and addresses the team assembled before him. "Okay, we are getting close, so we are going to need to have as much stealth as possible, as you may have noticed we are running dark." He motions to the turned off lights. "When we hit the ship we will have a few moments of confusions before they send out a radio message. We need to disable their radio tower or room before they do that, if not speed will be of utmost importance clearing the ship and getting our target."

Lu Bu idly sips a cup of tea.
"We do have somewhere in the realm of an hour even if they get the alarm out. Should be plenty of time for us to find one box, correct?"

Mar nods, "True, assuming it isn't hidden, locked away, or anything like that, and we are able to put the whole hour towards finding the box, not fighting. It is best to act on the side of caution and work to disable any chance of us having to deal with a warship."

Shojo checks his watch. He frowns, and begins winding it up. Something inside goes ping. The hands start turning backwards.

"Bugger. Do we have a blueprint of the warship anywhere? I'd prefer not to run in blind."

Lei idly thinks of how stealth is not his forte and trying to find a way to be useful.
"Speaking of taking our time fighting, I can hold my own defensively, I could distract enemy combatants while others infiltrate and find the box."

Mar shakes his head, "No blueprint, we are going in blind, but one can assume it will be in the captains quarters, Mr. Akyiamma how long would you need to disable the radio tower? Five, Ten minutes? We could spare a flare gun if you want it to signal if things go south or not, or when you finish."

Mar nods and slides the flare gun across the table. "Okay good, a few cut wire or smashed console should do it in." He glances at the rest of the crew. "What do you guys think we should do after that, feed back and planning is always good."

Lei causiously repeats himself,"Like I said earlier, I could be a distraction for the guards onboard, I'm not good at sneaking but I can hold my ground.

"I'd prefer to avoid the job of cannon-fodder. Besides, sneaking is my forte."

Shojo pulls his jacket over his face.

"Invisible."

Mar smirks, "Okay, Shojo, you go with Mr. Akiyama. Lei, you will be part of the strike team with me then."
