Messages came and went through the Command Tent as Hoffenburg put the Queen's orders into action. By now, the Prestoners were in full retreat; the Elbrethian army had soundly crushed them with a lightning barrage of spells and powder. Unfortunately, the risen citizenry of the Hollow had failed to have similar success; understandable but truly a disappointment. The Factor herself had been able to escape and even now was leading the remaining mercenaries northwards.

The dear Factor would be a useful hostage for the rebellion; the Hatcuri would have a fine time with her. Surely the Princess would want her safely secured or at the very least, neutralised from future conflicts. Hashing out orders to the drummers, Ambros expanded on the monarch's own commands.

Do not wait for the Princess to send a message:
Order [Cavalry]: Cavalry are to harass the retreating Prestoners from their left flank; attempt to demand their surrender. Make it known that they will be spared if they give up Factor Reed. If surrender is not given, Cavalry are to continue harassment.
Order [Right Flank]: Troops under the Abbess are to march after the Prestoners, pressuring them from the south. Raiders and Pikes are to engage the enemy if surrender is not given. All other troops are to position themselves facing the enemy's eastern flanks.
Order: Artillery are ordered to fire at 2-3 [hexes] north of the retreating Prestoners.

"Don't let them escape! After them!" The Abbess shouted, leading her soldiers onwards.

Troops under the Abbess are to march after the Prestoners, pressuring them from the south. Raiders and Pikes are to engage the enemy if surrender is not given. All other troops are to position themselves facing the enemy's eastern flanks.
Particularly aim to take on the unit lead by the Factor.

Noon, 25th March 720a...

Victory at Sheepy Hollow

[?] Despite your best efforts, and orders of Hoffenburg, Elbrethian troops manage to capture only one regiment of Prestonian Police. The men quickly surrender and any further pursuit is cut off by the Elbrethian soldiers themselves who cheer and meet the folk of Sheepy Hollow, who run towards them to embrace and celebrate with them. It is barely noon and the first shots for liberty have been fired and have made their mark in history. A flawless and nearly bloodless triumph, giving you a hope for more successes in the future.

Despite some damage to the town and dead militiamen, most of the populace is happy to see the rebirth of their nation. Erika enters the town at the head of a column of soldiers, who are met with crowds on either side of the street, spilling out of buildings and peering out of windows, stretching the entire length of the town all the way to the town hall. Many people wave simple blue and red flags, or wear cockades of that colour, giving out some of those to the grey-uniformed soldiers.

The empty administrative building, a two-story building with a small clock tower, abandoned by Prestonian clerks, is quickly swarmed by Princess' staff and turned into headquarters for the revolution. While the main council chamber is turned into a strategy room, mayor's quarters are handed over to Erika, and the rest of the building is handed over to her retainers.  In not too long a time, soldiers have to form up a guard in front of the building as people push to meet with her queen.

General Flavia arrives couple of hours later, having difficulty entering herself, pushing through the crowds and then the guards. When she enters the strategy room, she seems exhilarated, her ruffled hair and sweat-covered face telling a whole tale of their own.

"Your Highness, we pursued the commander of the enemy force, but they managed to lose us somehow. Soldiers are camped outside the town and people seem to be happy enough to give us provisions. The captured regiment was rounded up and put under guard of the pikemen. Personally, I am not fond of capturing prisoners, mercenaries no less, but they are your captives."

She turns to Alistair and Ssyrith, smirking. "Well, if you boys have done something, you must be doing it right. People in the town talk about other places which begun preparing for our arrival, although it still operates on a level of rumors, and they are quite timid."

Anate, when you open your eyes, you find yourself in a bed inside a room. You are tended to by one of the Sisters, who smiles kindly at you once she sees that you are awake. She wipes your brow with a wet cloth before speaking.

"You are finally awake. Uh huh, you mustn't move, we've just managed to bandage you together, you lost quite a lot of blood, but you will live, you just need rest." You turn your head towards a window, where you could see the Sheepy Hollow and the crowded street. You were surprised at how many people lived in this seemingly small place.

"You must be wondering what happened," the Sister carried on. "Well... we won! Prestonians fled and oh, what a beautiful sight it was..." She suddenly loses her smile however. "We tried to save as many of them as we could, but most of the men of your militia didn't make it. Brave men they were. I'm sorry."

Abbess Santaria, while the men of the army camp themselves outside of the town, your sisters take over the town church. It is not a grand temple, but its clean and well maintained, faith of the people in the town showing strongly. While your sisters venture out to help the injured during thee battle, a small crowd of townspeople gathers in the temple, apparently for a spontaneous service. It is also quite clear that they are waiting on you to talk to them.

Anate nodded. Such a simple act seemed all too weak and painful. He made the decision not to move any further just before he plunged back into unconsciousness.

Memories rolled through his mind. They'd rushed up the street in the semi-darkness. He remembered fires roaring somewhere, out of sight, their black smoke drifting over the sky above them. Then gunshots. They'd drawn their makeshift weapons at the sight of dark shapes up ahead in the graveyard. The enemy had turned on them quickly, vulnerable backs transforming into lines of pike and steel. Their two formations had crashed into one another with terrifying force.

He groaned. An open-faced youth carrying a self-made banner had been impaled as he charged, his blood splattering over the front ranks. A solemn old butcher using an old musket as a club had taken down two mercenaries with one mighty blow, but then been cut down, isolated from the men behind. He'd used his blade as well as he could, but no amount of street fighting had prepared him for this. He'd given the order to charge, awaiting reinforcements he'd had no reason to expect. The cavalry could have reached him... but they couldn't have known where he was. This was on his head. He'd led brave souls into their deaths for no reason at all. He'd nearly gotten himself killed.

Anate wondered what he'd tell the Princess. Best if he made no excuses.

Unconsciousness took him again.

The Princess and her counsellors (save Norn and the Abbess, who were busied in their own ways elsewhere) were stood around a table in the strategy room, piled over with maps and tokens representing troops.  The Princess had changed out of her military uniform into a simple green linen shirt belted over brown leather trousers with matching boots and gloves.  When General Flavia arrived, the various soldiers all stood to attention.  The Princess did not immediately look up.  Her face was, for a few moments, completely blank.  It concealed a storm of near incoherent rage.

The right flank!  The right flank!  How hard an order was that for you to screw up, Flavia?  You were support to succour Norn and capture the Factor, not assist an already well placed capture on the left flank!  And now the Factor flees, our troop deployments and numbers are free for the enemy to know, I cannot interrogate her for details on her peoples' security and we are that much worse off for it all!    Aaaaaurgh!!!

There was a split second in her silent howling when Erika considered actually saying some of this out loud.  Reason, which for some reason always sounded like her brother's voice in her head, took over.

But what is done is done.  Ranting and raving over this will not only not help, it would sour an otherwise flawless victory.  Aside from the militia the General's cavalry abandoned to get slaughtered, by luck and the will of the gods we utterly smashed our enemy, with no losses from the army proper.  The men have done well, the dragoons have done well apart from what might well have been a miscommunication from the flag men.  Harroway and Hoffenburg are the heroes of the hour, and I cannot do to lose the support of the old nobility either.

With that in mind, reassure, support and reward.

Erika looked up from the map table and her blank face turned to a broad grin, as if she had been so focused on the map she had not heard Flavia's arrival.  She clapped the general on the shoulder and gave a hearty laugh.

"By the gods and Sigurd's teeth; well done, general!  The loss of the Factor is regrettable, but nothing compared to our victory this day.  The gods and the wits of your men have brought us a fine battle.  Commendations are in order for many, but a few names stand out today.  Hoffenburg, your command of the artillery and the battle do you proud.  Harroway, your... unexpected prowess has turned the tide of battle as surely as the artillery, before it even began.  And though the cavalry were unable to reach him in time -" Stop that, don't veil reprimands. "- the honour of Norn and those who struck with him to defend their homes is beyond reproach."

Erika smiled wanly.  "Forgive a beggar princess her poverty, for I am too poor to show largess.  Still, recognition is in order.  Hassir, find a metalworker in town.  If there are any who will donate silver - and I mean donate - then all the better, but if all you can scrounge together is brass from the cooking pots, it will do.  Have him stamp medals, for Harroway, Hoffenburg, the General and Jarl, for Norn and one for each man who served or died from this town's militia, for their service to their Princess and country.  Ask the smith to present them to me in person, if he would, when the work is done.  Tell him to work quickly, though - we cannot tarry long in town.

"Hoffenburg, rouse the men.  Tonight there is to be a feast, and do not scruple to make our men who would feast do the busywork to make it happen."
Erika flashed a grin.  "I will give my speeches at the table, after the Abbess has had a chance to do hers in the temple.  All the town is to be invited.  Make it clear to the men that we will not stay long, however, and may leave tomorrow - so if they march upon a hangover, it is their own doing.

"Harroway and Hassir, I should like you both to attend to me here before the feast.  I would know more of magic, as it is a thing little studied in the books I have read, and you seem the best to explain it to me.  Especially if we intend to see its use in battle again.  In the meantime, Hassir, I want you to study maps of the surrounding area and recommend the best paths we can take to Sheepstead, and to Castle Black* and whether you would recommend taking Black first, or heading straight to Sheepstead.  Pull Hoffenburg in if you think it necessary.

"Jarl, I understand our arrangement has always been an even split of loot and prisoners.  Allow me to treat with the captured commander first.  If he and his men will turn, I would offer to surrender my share of loot for your share of captives - more warm bodies for the war would be useful.  If not, I welcome you to whatever fate might await them.

"Speaking of which, General.  Have the men treat the prisoners with courtesy - no injuries or molestation is to be brought upon them, save that necessary to prevent escape.  Have some of your men locate that battalion's commander and see him bathed, watered, given fresh clothes and brought to my chambers once I return.  I will treat with him, and see how much care a mercenary places upon his own men.

"In the meantime, assemble an honour guard.  A more solemn duty calls me."
Erika exhaled, and the mirth fled from her face.  "I must visit those buildings in the Hollow that burned, and face the wives and children of those who gave their lives in my service.  Harroway, I would appreciate if you could accompany me.  Your touch with the people would be appreciated."

Erika picked up her long coat from the back of a chair and drew it on.  She looked sensibly dressed for the weather, and with no crown she looked as if she might have been a well-off traveller rather than a princess or soldier.

"Unless there is further business, I shall attend to my task.  I will return two hours before any festivities to change and bathe, and deal with the captive commander.  I will meet with you again afterwards."

Erika, accompanied by an honour guard, visits the people of the burned district and those whose kin were slain in the battle.  Taking charge of what soldiers are available, she directs the clearing of rubble, extinguishing of any remaining small fires and salvaging of property and livelihoods.  She personally assists with the clearing of wreckage and work, keeping her guards close at hand.  On the way and while doing this, she allows the people of the town to speak with her, one by one, and bring to her their complaints and fears.  She notably prioritises those who help with the clearing work.

In the process of this, she takes time to visit Norn.

Ssyrith's eyebrow perked up at the queens command, but he bowed nonetheless. "It will be done, your majesty, but from what little I do know concerning Sheepstead and Castle Black, the decision to me would depend of what you value more your majesty. Taking Castle Black would seem to me to be the more strategic option as it would likely offer a better defensive position and deny the enemy a base from which to launch attacks, but taking Sheepstead would have more ideological value, and help send a message to the world as to our strength, and would add legitimacy to our cause as well as giving us an excuse to officially name you Queen. But I'll look into it further your highness." And with a final bow Ssyrith walked out of the room and into the streets.

The people of Sleepy Hollow were on a good mood, that much was clear, so much so that they didn't seem to mind Ssyrith's presence among them, which had the unfortunate side effect of meaning that they didn't make way for him as he made his way through the streets, fortunately none of them where foolish enough to actually get in his way. Ssyrith was however far too preoccupied to be annoyed by the lack of progress through the streets, his mind was on other things. "That I must waste time finding some medals for a bunch of peasants! They couldn't even capture that Factor for me, what a work I could have done to her, what I could have learned from her, fools!" Ssyrith tensed up quickly as one of the more open townsfolk reached out to pat him on the shoulder, through he quickly backed away under Ssyrith's murderous glare, allowing him to press on. "And now the princess wants to know about magic, I'll have to review the things that fool of a master taught me, it's been so long, blast it!"

He idly looked to the side as he passed yet another blacksmith on his way past, noting his more fine work than some of the previous metalworkers, this one might be better suited, of course Ssyrith himself wouldn't be asking anything from him directly, no, that's what his little underlings where for. Ssyrith was all to aware however that this general mood might well have a few unique misfits and problems among it. Which was of course why he had two of his agents shadowing him as well as a handful of knives under his coat, he wasn't too confident in his ability to call on his magic in a fight, not like Harroway. "That man just became even more dangerous, I'll have to make sure he doesn't get many supporters in this town, or he could become a serious problem."

Coming back to the administrative building after about another hour of searching, Ssyrith made his way across to his own small room, he disliked being in such a publicly known building, but there weren't many alternatives, and besides, he was sick of sleeping in tents. After quickly filling out his orders, he made his way over to the maps which had been brought to his room, his eyes scanning the key details, searching the map, noting the Castle Black and Sheepstead, but also every route leading away from Sleepy Hollow, after all, he still had a few hours before the feast. "I'll find you yet my dear, and then we shall have many words, many words indeed."

Search for the best metal worker in town, and ask him to create some medals for the commanders and the peasants, alive and dead, who had fought in the battle.
Ask around town for some silver with which to make these medals.
Search the town for all possible trouble makers, Republicans, Anarchists and the like.
Search for the fleeing Factor and identify where she is going, and if possible, attempt a capture.

While Sheepy Hollow was celebrating the glorious Victory of the Loyalist Elberethians, the Prestonian prisoners didnt have much cause for celebration. Quietly led away by the  Weylanders to their own camp (which was a bit apart from the town to avoid undue attention to the screams and the sight of slave pens), where they were apprised, their worth noted down and those with letters of insurance were released. It was a poorly kept secret that the Weylands Mercenary Forces could sign Insurance Contracts in their Homeland which would buy them freedom in case of capture, medical care in case of wounding and a tidy stipend to widows and widowers in case of death. Thus a good two hundred men were freed and sent off, some staying on as hangers on trying to recoup their losses by scavenging, but most of them went on a rather long walk back home to Weyland.

But the greatest part of the Prestonian Mercenaries didn't recieve such courtesies. The Officers were handed over to accompanying ransom brokers who would later return them to their families if they paid them, the rank and file however, were stripped, marked, collared and then put into huge pens where they would stay until an escorted transport could be arranged back to Weyland for further processing.

The Eel was most pleased, a good one and a half thousand prestoners had been captured. Breaking it down into money, it was a good turnout, one or two more such engagements and this venture would break even, add to that the plunder from Suul...his grin broadened even further. This insurrection proves to be quite a worthwhile venture and to think the Altthing almost didn't grant his petition for this. The Rivals back home would grow green with envy. If he could secure trade agreements with Elbreth...after all the land wasn't paticularly rich, slaves might prove for them a valid alternative to a rather poor economy. And if the queen decided against such a venture then maybe he could cook up the hate against the prestonians some more to nudge her into the right direction...he would need to consult with his assets in Preston. Looking at the Weylanders among the mercenary prisoners he recalled that McRiar was operating there currently. Surely some incidents regarding atrocities committed in the Name of the Banking Clans could be arranged, that ought to fire up the revolutionary spirit even more...

"The men will be made busy, drunk and ready to march by next morning, Princess."

Making a bow to the soon-to-be monarch, Hoffenburg headed off to attend to a few matters. Using a servant's exit, conveniently avoiding the crowds of people jostling to see their Princess, Hoffenburg made for an inn which had become a makeshift mess hall for the officers. Made up of noble stock, upstart bourgeois and a handful adventuring foreigners, the Elbrethian officer corps were in cheery moods. Not a single death. A few bruises and a broken limb but nothing that a good feast and the attentions of the Sisters couldn't fix.

Most of the officers would attend the feast, after of course organising their men into action. A few however would be helping Hoffenburg with another task. Hassir had been assigned a task and while Ambros hadn't been asked as of yet, some scouting action would always be useful. As such, Ambros called for the Emernsson brothers. Minor nobility who had joined the independence movement a few weeks before Hoffenburg had taken command. Always sober, had few friends and ate little. He didn't expect them to enjoy the feast and as such ordered them to lead the scouting crews towards the towns currently being eyed by Erika. He couldn't tell whether they were relieved or not, but it didn't matter; they would do their job.

After giving out orders for the feast, Ambros decided to find the remaining pieces of the artillery. Artillery, in this modern age, were the kings of the battlefield. Or at least, that what Ambros had always thought. A mage was prone to the gods' tender wishes, a footman too easily killed by bullet and blade. A cannon miles away was not the plaything of the gods nor did it bleed or cry. Perhaps, Ambros mused, artillery would one day replace soldiers entirely...one day. For now however, Ambros attempted to get the Preston artillery into working order. He doubted they could be repaired anytime soon but it was worth the effort, especially if it meant more cannons on the field.

Order the men to prepare a feast
Order scouts to survey the routes towards Castle Black and Sheepstead. Check for patrols. Try to be subtle.
Determine the possibility of salvaging the Preston artillery. If possible, have any volunteer metalworkers ready them for service.

"Welcome, everyone. Are you enjoying your new freedom?"
She smiled and launched into the sermon proper.
"The Cycle is unbreakable in the end. Our wicked enemies trampled on the natural order, inflicted evil and misery. But they could not stave off justice forever. With the power of the heavens, all things are possible, and your rightful ruler is restored to her throne - here, at least.

Our noble Princess has lead our forces to victory here - it was the will of God. I see from the well-kept temple here you have kept the faith - that is good. It is for you we do this. Some brave souls rose up in aid of the princess - my sisters tend to them now, and those who died are martyrs to the cause. The Cycle will smile upon such heroes. After all, it has been said: The wicked fear the wrath of the gentle man! We are gentle folk, but we are wrathful at the injustices heaped upon us. It is time to set to rights what they would despoil and destroy.

After all, in the words of Saint Elasis..."
The sermon went on for a whi1le, with a few hymns.

At the end of the sermon, if the people had taken it well, she smiled.
"I suppose this is a good example of the differences between us and them. We merely ask for what you can spare to aid the war effort agaisnt the oppressors. Whether you take up arms, give coin or do not, may the Cycle be kind to you. Thank you for listening."

Alistair gave a small nod as the Princess commented on his efforts during the battle, and gave a sheepish grin.

"I thought you knew, milady. I have never made a habit of keeping my, ah, natural talents secret... But yes, I do sometimes forget to mention them when making introductions. It will be an honor to accompany you to see the burned, of course."

In truth, it was an annoyance and a half. He had an affinity for fire, not ashes, and he disliked having to see the results of his own handiwork from up close; the fact that civilians had been hit only added to the embarrassment of it all. The entire thing was rather inconvenient, but one did not easily refuse a Princess.

Still, there was a chance all this could be arranged in his favor to a further degree. He did indeed have a touch for the people, as the noblewoman said - and just then he was the hero of the hour. It was time for his second battle to start - one of public relations.

Accompany the Princess with her honor guard to visit the people of the town and clear the wreckage. Make certain to take a position right behind her, to put emphasis on my importance as the hero of the battle. When questioned by those who lost properties or families during the fire, take up the persona of a regretful hero who did what had to be done to present unnecessary monarchist bloodshed.
Visit the most notable and influential journalists in town and impress them / convince them / bribe them in order to have them write stories with a focus on my contribution to the battle. The stories should not paint me as the sole hero, but instead look like an attempt to give everyone some glory, with me overshadowing all the others.
Speak with the soldiers who were under my command and try to start bonding with them. Capitalize on the fact that thanks to my magic they never needed to put their own lives at risk.
Return to the Princess before the feast, as per her instructions.

Sheepy Hollow  - A Victors’ Rest.

The rest in the village turned into a camping, with army replenishing its strength, leaders taking their time with civilians and the Weylanders turning the promised profit with the captured men, while leaving the rest of the prisoners to suffer captivity under the eyes of Elbrethians.
A good day after the battle a big feast was declared and the town eagerly awaited awaited, with life seemingly revolving around the army that liberated the town. Girls talked about the handsome captains and knights, while young men were enraptured by the warrior princess and impressed by the gathered regiments.

[1+1] (from Charisma) You go towards the burned district with a guard, while people swarm around you. Well, at least you try to get the district, as you are halted by the mass of people. Had the solders not been there with you, you think the squeeze could have had easily suffocate you. They cheer and invoke your name, some mention a militia commander that has fallen with the others and inquire if he is still alive.
The people call out to you and swamp you with requests and pleas for help. The help is mostly about one thing – food. The sunken faces and the hollow cheeks speak volumes and the fact that these people give the rest of their winter supplies to you and cheer you on, but at the same time plead for help. The Prestonian rule and harsh winter did their thing and as spring comes, people are hoping for the best. Illness is a second concern, but the majority of those worried are already crowding the chapel and the Sisters gathered there.

The rubble and damage is quickly cleared up by people and troops themselves, as you are stuck in the middle of the adoring crowd.  You manage to call out to those who are clearing up the debris. You ask them for their needs, but the response is the same – food, cloth, medicine. Yet, your presence is uplifting, and their attitude is one of celebration, despite their poverty. For them, it’s not a question of if, but a question of when.

You are exhausted by the ordeal by the time you get back from the town and return to the Town Hall, where Anate is resting on one of the residential rooms. The Sister who takes care of him smiles and bows before letting you in.

“He’s resting, Your Highness, but I think it won’t do him any harm if you speak to him. He’s had some time to himself for a bit now. You are his first visitor in fact.”

[1] the best metalworker turns out to be a smith, who sadly has no experience with the sort of thing that you require. Most of the more complicated things and goods were always shipped either from Preston or Sheepstead, with locals being usually too poor to afford most of it. As such, you have neither the silver nor the medals. As sad as it is, the town is unable to provide you with the merits that the Princess requested of you.

[3+1] The town is deceptively large, despite its small size. People are plenty and its not easy to find the people you are after. In not too long a time you realize that the biggest concentration of Republicans and potential subversives is… in the Elbrethian Army. The town folk are too awed by the arrival of their queen and desperate to think of rebellion, not to mention, the people that were most responsible for trouble have been chased off with cannons and magic.

[?] For all the power of your scouts and spies, you are unable to capture or divine the exact location of Factor Meredith Reed, however, you know that she is on the move and is still in the country. Her route points to her heading towards another concentration of Prestonian army.

[2] You explore the maps for the best roads to both Castle Black and Sheepstead, but the only roads you find are those that are already on the maps as both places have only single roads leading to them from where you are. Not much variation or opportunities, unless you are willing to cross through countryside, which would mask you from the enemy somewhat but would slow you down considerably.

[3] Your knowledge of magic is basic - you are aware of its workings and the fact that you are gifted. You can perform most basic spells also provided spell books and can improvise small things or add a little energy to the mixtures you are working on, but there is no overt specialization that you possess. As a result, you would be able to tell if someone has a magical gift, but not really do much with it, apart from teaching them the basics of controlling and living with it. There is a lot that you do not recall, your master was insistent on teaching you dusty theory and speculation rather than the practical uses or manifestations of it.

Order the men to prepare a feast
Order scouts to survey the routes towards Castle Black and Sheepstead. Check for patrols. Try to be subtle.
Determine the possibility of salvaging the Preston artillery. If possible, have any volunteer metalworkers ready them for service.

[5-1](supply situation) Your call is readily answered by and despite harsh situation of the townsfolk, they break out their remaining supplies, while the soldiers decide to open up the army rations and the supplies of the baggage train. A feast, while not overly refined, is organized in no time, with ample food and drink. While  it could be seen as reckless, the promise of victory and the more ale boost from the event are well worth it.

[4+1](Ssyrith’s map studies) as you were made aware by the maps, the roads to Sheepstead and Castle Black are pretty straightforward.  Normal roads lead to both locations and your scouts forage ahead, using these roads to observe the patrols. The immediate situation around the Sheepy Hollow and the northern part of the country are clear, as the army responsible for the region was swept away, however, the patrols appeared closer to the capital. They are as aware as they were on the border, but there are little in the way of countryside over watch, with roads being the primary and most obvious routes.

[3] – Preston artillery was shattered during the battle and most of the guns were damaged or destroyed. While a lot of it will never be more than scrap for melting down, you think you would be able to salvage at least 1 battery of guns. The problem is putting them up on limbers, which, if to be made from scratch, could bog you down in the town for a bit. The town has skilled carpenters and smiths, but the time needed could imperil your progress towards the capital.

[5+1]Abbes, you give the people a sermon and with your usual power, it holds the people as if under a spell,. God clearly works through your words and deeds as people are lifted up in their spirits and are think you profusely. Your calls to war inspire many, but with the sisters present and active in the chapel, you are soon swarmed by requests to help and heal. With few broken bones and bruises on the soldiers, your sisters are largely handling the townsfolk, who come to them with various ailments. In not too long a time, the temple is turned into a makeshift hospital. You and your Sisters are likely to be stuck in here for the reminder for your stay in the town.

[5+1] You manage to survive the squeeze alongside the Princess and the opportunities to speak are scarce, but you are seen and heard with her .While few of them find it hard to believe that you are the person responsible for the walls of fire, you are certainly hailed as a hero. People cheer you alongside Erika, calling you the most loyal of her servants. It would seem that your words are a tad too clever for these folk and while you got the result you wanted, the political message got lost. Yet, being seen and heard close to Erika certainly raised your profile overall, and the news of the royal mage will be heard with those of rebellion.

[5+1] While newspapers are in their infancy in this part of the world, there are plenty of enthusiastic and promising writers and documentarists, who spread news and information via their letters, writing to bigger cities, where their dispatches were paid for and printed.  Luckily, you've stumbled upon just a man. Marc Besson, a young fellow in a jacket that probably was slept in one too many nights and a pencil tucked behind his ear, eagerly noted your words. He was taken in with a tale of your magic and the glorious battle, which saw a nearly flawless victory for the Elbrethian side. The problem was that Marc’s talent and inspiration had him draft the dispatch to Sheepstead, where he would get a pretty penny for the story, in addition to spreading news of the charismatic battlemage Harroway, who fought for queen and justice. Again, it seemed that your talent was shooting over the people you hoped to reach, but you had no doubt that the news of the revolution and your exploits would be heard in the country.

[4+1] Despite your fearsome and strange powers, soldiers look favourably on you and for once, notice your egalitarian outlook on things, which is heartily applauded. They embrace your talent and saved lives, and you form quick bonds with some troopers and officers, with bonds sealed by jugs of beer and cider passed around. You have some but resist the urge to be lost in the cups, as you excuse yourself with your need to attend the feast later one. You are met wit h disappointed but friendly voices and you return to Princess, assured that the soldiers would be your supporters – the road to that is long, but you have laid the foundation stone.

Ssyrith studied the map before him wearily, if the factor made it to those reinforcements, it would be much harder to acquire her for his studies. Of course it was unlikely that any of the humans would be willing to attempt a capture just for his studies, but perhaps there may be another way, while his spy force was still operational, he would have to sort that out too, he was quite liking this spymaster business.

Striding through the ruins of the battlefield, Ssyrith made his way to a large temporary workshop set up by the army, he could hear the grunts of the soldiers and craftsmen as they went to work on their attempt at salvaging the artillery. Passing the charred ground Ssyrith found himself once again in slight fear of Harroway, if only his own master had bothered to teach him these kinds of magics, he might have paid his words more heed, might. It wasn't hard to spot the man, Ambros had that annoyingly large presence most nobles had, regardless of species.

"Hoffenburg, a moment of your time if you would, I have a situation that I believe fits your field of expertise. You may recall the regrettable escape of the factor from the clutches of our friend miss Flavia. I however, may have just acquired some information as to her whereabouts, information that, with your help, may just see us fix this mistake from our mutual friend."

Repairing the artillery would take time, time the Elberethian forces did not have. It would be folly to stay here any longer than necessary. As such, Ambros sent a messenger to the Princess-wherever she was- about leaving 2 regiments of militia to guard the workers as they restored the artillery.

Having finished that, he returned to the artillery where he found his men hard at work doing what they could before tomorrow's march. It was during an inspection on one man's work that Ambros was ambushed the by the Hatcuri. Seeing his scaly form travel through the workshop, trying not to step on the debris, Ambros hoped the spymaster did not require too much of his time.

Ambros listened to what he said and was interested. "And what exactly would that be?"

"I have recently acquired some information regarding the whereabouts of the Factor, she is making her way to a large concentration of Prestonian troops, however my agents haven't been able to give me her exact location as of yet, nor will they likely be able to do anything about it if they do find her. However I do believe that between the two of us, we could quite easily find, and then capture that Factor if we act quickly.

"And what exactly do you suggest? My scouts can track the Factor's movement and the dragoons could potentially cut her off before she gets too far. But of course, we'd need to be quick, as you say."
