The games do take quite a lot longer then the average WoT game though. So it probably balances out with the increased XP gain.

If anyone wants to sail together in NA server, my IGN is Elsior. I only play Cruisers and Battleships. I am up to Kongo, Furutaka, Wyoming, and Omaha.

I'm Cfoofoo.  I play all classes, all T4 right now.  Phoenix, Wyoming, Isokaze, Langley.

I'm kind of liking the American carriers despite myself.  I'm like Nunu in League, my job isn't to be better than you, my job is to make you as useless as I am.  Multi-fighter loadouts are absolute hell to play against and if the enemy US CV is higher tier than you you may as well disconnect because you're not going to get a single point this round.

It's definitely a problem and probably something that'll be addressed.  As an example, Bogue-class carriers were in use throughout the war and carried the same classes of aircraft as the more advanced fleet carriers, they just weren't as good at it and couldn't carry as many.  It doesn't make sense to give ships not just more planes and faster service but better planes too.  As it is, a Langley or whatever the T4 IJN CV is vs a Bogue (or a Bogue vs the US tier 6 or 7) is a waste of time.  They've got more planes and their planes cna kill yours in less than ten seconds.

I think carriers should carry the same planes, just with more squadrons, more storage, and better servicing times.  Maybe a threshold from T7-T8 or something where you upgrade from early war to late war planes.

You cant really use the history argument here... This game is as a far cry from a simulator as WoT. Or even worse because distances and time are scaled. The tier system is a fundamental feature of both games, as is certain amount of imbalance that keeps changing to keep some units wanted and others unwanted to promote using gold and premium...

But for real life, remember the CVEs are also much slower, less wide and shorter than fleet carriers, among other things. Makes for interesting landings, especially in a storm(just try it out in Il-2!! Especially the Seafire is nasty to consistently bring down in one piece)

Well yeah, that's what I like about World of Whatever (as opposed to war thunder that tries to be a fun game and a historical sim at the same time and ends up being neither) but it's still a complete nightmare to deal with a higher-tier carrier, moreso than any other class matchup.

So I need to pick between getting the Myogi or saving up a bit and getting the New York. The Myogi seems like a decent ship while the NY looks kinda meh from the stats and comparing it to the Wyoming.

Any thoughts from folks who have them?

Also got the Furutaka yesterday, it's pretty ok I guess, but not really comparable to the Omaha which is still the most fun ship I have flown and pretty much the strongest bastard at its tier (barring the Murmansk which is the Omaha but on Russian steroids)

Myogi has 3 guns and has a huge ass deck to shoot at at long range. Hull C does give it decent AA and a nice pagoda. She works best with her ass facing the enemy since the two turrets are there.

In a way, you really learn how to aim with her because every shot will have to count.

It isnt mentioned within the game but the last hull also gives Myogi a lot more range... IIRC 19 km.

this is my problem with that ship... i cant hit much with games where i shoot 90 shots and hit 8, because i try to stay at long range (what works pretty good -.-)

dont forget the spotter plane it also gets... think it has on the last hull + spotter plane 20-24 km range. (forgot what it is exactly, but its ridiculous compared to the usa wyoming. (14km?)

I got my Cleaveland.
Upgraded it with all AA related skills and mods.
Game seems to consistently throw me into the Big blue map with no carriers on either team..

Also cleaveland sadly has some serious issues with penetratign the armor of other cruisers so getting citadel hits is kinda.... hard.
I'm actually pondering using HE exclusively because AP without regular citadels is kinda meh.

I don't play this on a regular basis, but is it normal for the South Carolina to have complete ass accuracy? I mean, one time I fired a single turret (while zoomed in) and one shell went to the far top left of the screen while the other to the far bottom right, and this wasn't even at max range. This coupled with the fact that the battle will be over before I can even get in range of anybody is a real PITA. I guess the only strategy is to rush straight ahead and hope some people go the same way I do, or that there are even enemies where I decided to go, and sort of scare enemies with my presence while my shells rain down everywhere but into them once every half minute.

Yes battleship accutacy is completely horrid and there is no way to salvage it. Later BBs have mods that increase accuracy but i doubt they help much.
Battleships are basically artillery from WoT.
They either miss and do minimal damage or get multiple citadel hits on one salvo  and oneshoting you or cleaving your HP in half.

Bah American BB captains are too spoiled. They get 6 guns early on and complain they can't hit shit.

They don't get 24 km of range at tier 4 tho.

You can't say the South Carolina isn't ass.  I mean the Kawachi is worse but just cause you're eating dead rats doesn't mean the guy eating chicken bones out of the trash is spoiled.

Overall I'm not happy with BBs.  They feel like slow shitty cruisers that never actually get to the fight. I  mean yeah, if somebody's dumb enough to go broadside with me as close range he's toast but that doesn't happen often (And since dds and cas both get torpedos he'll probably make me regret it anyway).

I do what I can to mitigate the inaccuracy but it's hardcoded.  I shoot one at a time to zero in on the enemy but half the time the shots go so haywire you'd think they put the wrong caliber in the guns.  It's hard to zero in when you're not even sure where your shells are supposed to land.
