It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Tell me more.
I liked Jimbo's crosshairs in WoT. What do these 'new' crosshairs do? Give the 'alt' information by default so I don't have to hold it down all the time?

That's one of the main features, yes, but IIRC it's independent of the crosshair you select.

There's a few different ones, some are just better as far as angle shots, others are made to look nicer (IE like a ship periscope). The installer has a preview window, adn it doesn't download them untill you tell it to, the link is just the installer.

The Always on Alt key thing is just a setting in the game itself, in the control tabl.

If anybody is currently grinding the japanese DD's,

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

don't even bother going past the Minekaze. This is an even worse situation for torps then during CBT and high tier DDs were already seriously shafted there.

TBH, this doesn't really fill me with confidence in the capabilities of their balance department.

Edit: Link hopefully fixed now

Your spoiler's broke (and pasting the link into the address bar gives a 401)

Strange, it worked for me before. Hopefully it's fixed now.

I'd posit that high-tier Jap DD drivers are only SOL if they're crappy DD drivers of the sort who sit off near the max range of their torps and spam them. Like the scrubs who use the "upgraded" torps on the Minekaze. Jap DDs are best played in a way similar to US DDs as far as torps go, but with their ideal open-water range being just outside of the range enemies can detect them. You can't expect to get loads of hits when you're sitting out at 10km, because only the worst players are going to maintain their speed and heading long enough for shots at that range to connect (never mind firing from 15 or 20km). The only thing that needs tweaking is the torp detect range for mid-high tier Jap DDs, given that their speeds are roughly equivalent to US torps, and it's not like they're low-tier Jap DDs with the two-torp spreads that are super-easy to dodge.

If you want to complain about DDs, at least complain about the real problems such as how WG butchered the smokescreen.

That range part sounds like the same reason you can't sit out at 20km or so in a battleship and expect much of anything in the way of actual hits.

Exactly, but even more so -- anyone paying attention will see those shots coming from a loooong way away, and anyone who's decent at the game is going to be changing course fairly often anyways. BB drivers who do that are bloody useless. You're supposed to be going into range with your cruiser screen, letting them soak the initial fire, and trying to mix it up within range of your secondary batteries. Same goes for CVs that hide at the back of the map, all they're doing is making it take longer to get their own aircraft into the fight and making it easier for enemy CVs to find and kill them.

Really, the only things that can do well sitting at their maximum range are cruisers, since they're rapid-firing enough to keep up constant fire with 2-3 volleys in the air at all times and fast enough to dodge return fire.

Have't played in a while but are there still scrubs playing peekabo behind islands like they're tanks?

I honestly can't say I ever saw anyone doing that. It's so obviously disadvantageous, too; you can't shoot from behind islands, but there are plenty that you can put plunging fire over.

So you mean to tell me you never saw anyone stop after clearing an island and go full reverse to hide behind the island?

I did that once in a coop match after seeing basically 5 bots at once show up.

That was also the time i found out warships have terrible reverse speed and that you should just hold full ahead and turn sooner instead if you need to gtfa.
