Well, as far as the game running, it runs in 70 fps for me in max settings, but I have to way of comparing that to WoT, as I haven't played since changing GPU to new GeForce. I suspect power unit, actually, as it is only part that spews hot air when the computer hangs.

Yeah, there were so many various classes of warships that tech tree could be much, much, much less linear. What with all the experimental mix-ups, light and heavy cruisers and stuff... Oh well, there is - theoretically - still hope, since I'm sure that there will be many additions to those lines in the future.

Let's just hope Wargaming won't create super-powerful USSR navy out of thin air and scribbles of engineers. ;)

That is one benefit of playing world of whatever instead of war thunder, don't have to deal with communist developers making glorious indestructible soviet spaceplanes.

I wonder if they'll ever implement German Navy.  I mean it's not like it's a realistic pacific war sim, and wherever possible I'm obligated to be the Germans.

I am starting to like it more now that I've played.  Got two citadel kills so far, still getting a hang for aiming at them.  And aiming in general.  Not sure what kind of ship I want to go for, I kind of like the idea of supporting battleships with a cruiser; mostly what I've been doing is parking somewhere with limited angles of fire and hitting people as they go by.

You should try the Cleaveland. Great AA for its tier and amazing guns (loads of them).
Its only downside is that the ship that follows it is... somehow worse.

Anyway you basically follow BBs and use the AA skill when there are bombers incoming and ctrl + click on one to focus fire AA on them and watch CV rage.

And while i'm not quite there Des Moines wit hte AA upgrades and skill has an 8 km range... you can imagine the sheer ammount trolling it can do to approaching bombers.

That's one of the nice things, actually, how each of the classes is fun in a different way because of how distinct the playstyles are.

Gotta say I'm disappointed that we're getting the Russian navy before the Italians, even if that's to be expected from a Russian dev.  :P

I'm not a nautical/navy-type person, so will someone elaborate what all these abbreviations are? CA? BB? BC? CL? What?

At least I know what AAA is so...

Here's my understanding.

CV - aircraft carrier,
CVL - light aircraft carrier, smaller
CVE - escort aircraft carrier, tiny

BB - battleship, big guns, big armour
BC - battlecruiser, big guns, not so much armour
CA - cruiser, medium guns, medium armour
CL - light cruiser, same as above, but smaller!
DD - destroyer, tiny pewpews, but usually torps and depth-charges/anti-sub equipment
DE - destroyer escort, even tinier than DDs!

I only tried using HE against another BB once, and y'know what the result was? I was maneuvering to fire full broadside salvos and all he had was one rear turret (the other was damaged, IIRC). He took me down by 30k HP in the time I did 10k, and I was landing a ~50% hit rate.
I still use AP in my BB becouse its the way it should work, but just make the experiment, play 3 games with AP and 3 games with HE and tell me the avarage damage per shot. Even without counting fires HE is usually the better alternative.

Can do. I've been meaning to grind my Myogi a bit so that I can unlock BURNING LOVE.

e: Ahahaoooh yeah, this is going to be a breakdown of damage-per-hit, because fuck me. First match in, some retard dropped a full spread of torps into my side from 50m away because he was tunnel-visioned on a DD that wasn't even within his range.

Okay, here's my notes:

What's the tl;dr? The literal worst possible situation for using AP shells, namely a match where you have zero citadel penetrations, still results in a higher average damage per shell than the best possible situation for HE shells, namely a match with enemy ships thin enough to get citadel penetrations with HE. If you add in fire damage, that best possible situation for HE just barely scrapes the lowest edge of the AP average damage range.

On a longer distribution, AP does roughly 1.5x as much damage as HE, even if you include all fire damage and account for fringe cases like being matched against Tenryuus (which won't happen at higher tiers). If you don't include the potential for HE citadel penetrations, it's closer to 1.6-1.7x, even including fire damage.

So basically even if your aim is shit AP is still a better choice in your BB, even if you're fighting soft targets that you overpenetrate.

So what's HE actually good for?  It seems flashy, I'm always getting nice crits when I use it, but I'm guessing it's not actually that useful aside from feeling good.
