"Radiant" damage is mostly for "holy" creatures, isn't it? Like angels and stuff. It looks a bit weird to have it on guns. It seems like they'd to "laser" or "fire" type damage :P

Our intrepid hero, Captain Starco the Lizardoid, is in dire peril. His ship has been disabled by pirates, and now they are intent to board!

"It's over, Captain Starco! I have you now." cackles the villainous Half-Elven Crime Lord, Osirion DeGray. "For too long has your meddling interrupted my plans, but no more. Now I deal with you...once and for all!"

Starco merely continues to prepare his weapons-his twin pistols, gravity maul, massive laser cannon and his grenade belt. Rusty, his faithful robo-hound, seems intent on following his master into battle as well.

But, will our hero prevail against these terrible odds? His ships cameras note down the hall lie a sizable number of star-pirates, drawing star-straws to see who will go first. They also have a large combat robot-it looks like an AVA-1, used for battering down foes with it's massive twin gravity hammers.

Nah, fire would be...actual fire...flamethrowers. :P Or thermal guns.

"Stay down rusty! I'll take care of those villainous pirates!" Starco exclaimed as he grabbed out one of his trusty grenades. Moving up to the door he looked down the hallway and steeled himself for the rush of pirates that would soon come from beyond the far door.

Order Rusty to stand on the far side of the door.
Equip grenade
Open door.
Ready an action to throw grenade at pirate mob when they open the far door!

Captain Starco waits patiently, popping the pull-tabs on his trademark atomic grenades-he waits till at least six pirates are in the tube, opens the hatch, and tosses it out at them!

The explosion is tremendous-sending atomized Space Pirates body parts flying up and down the corridor! Not a single one survives the blast.

Spoiler: Jump! (click to show/hide)

The remaining pirates (somewhat belatedly) charge down the hall, their cheap ballistic guns rattling a crescendo! Of course, none of them even have a chance of hitting our Brave Captain behind cover! But wait...

The terrible titan of a machine uses it's Gravity Hammer at range to rip the door off Starco's Ship!

Starco peers out and notices the cowardly pirate leader still hiding behind the bot.

((Then you might need to make Laser a new damage type, or something. Also make normal guns a damage type like "solid projectile" or something, as there's something of a difference in force between a bullet fired from a gun and a spear thrust by an arm. Maybe?

So yeah I hope you don't mind talking about such things here too.))

"You owe me a door Osiron! And I'm coming to collect!" Starco called out as he pulled out his HLC and rounded the corner, sending a writhing barrage of fire upon the remaining pirates!

Use Burst Fire to shoot at the three pirates in the hallway!
If all three pirates die, use Action Surge! to shoot at the battle bot!
If the battle bot dies advance down the hallway towards the pirate leader!

I think it's clear this isn't exactly 'serious'. It's mostly for discussion and playtesting.

Yeah, I got a bit, caught up in the action. Anyway.

It's certainly interesting. I'd be interesting to see how the focus on range would pan out. As in, better fighters probably, worse some other things. As a fighter I wholeheartedly approve!

Sarco leans out spraying the hapless Space Pirates with high energy bursts! They turn into briefly humanoid shaped piles of ash before drifting to the floor.

Spoiler: Yeek! (click to show/hide)

With a roar, Captain Starco rushes out into the hall, steadily hammering away at the AVA-1 with all his firepower-it's tough metallic shell begins to crack!

Spoiler: Hroooar! (click to show/hide)

Rusty also joins in, running past his master to attack the beast! He nips it!

---

With a roar the robot pounds it's giant hammers toward Rusty

"AVA-1 CRUSHES ZHE PUNY HOUND LIKE ZHE TIN CAN!"
It booms in it's robotic accent, bringing it's weapons down with terrible force.

Rusty has been crushed!
