Please post things you heard of but never seen in your own gameplay.

Mine:

1) Goblins riding beasts. I've read about them in man posts and on the wiki, but I've never seen one.
2) Dragons.
3) Human or elven sieges.

I have played a LOT of df, but still never seen the HFS.

I've never seen a ghost killed via counterattack.  I've never seen a syndrome spiral.  I've never seen a were-creature spiral.  I've never seen a one of my forts survive the HFS.

Never seen angels (don't play adventure mode really).

I've never had a full-on elven siege either. And it's not by lack of mistreating elven merchants either...

I've never seen a goblin on a mount.
I've never seen a candy weapon in a vault but I think they were removed.

Uhhh, I've never seen a human or dorf get gelded by sliding across the ground after striking them.

Oh! I've never seen an elf I didn't wanna smack in the brain and stuff in my backpack so I could use them to knock other elves out of trees.

Thinking about this has made me realize there's very few things I haven't seen.

Can't say I've necessarily been very successful in countering/fighting/dealing with the various dangers and wonders, however

Yes it is, and a very FUN one

I got one during the first year of an aboveground fort. It was impossible to fight them, so I locked the doors, deconstructed the wooden roof and built a giant atom-smasher out of logs. Some unfortunate dorfs climbed out of the holes on the roof and fed the zombies, but the smasher killed enough of them to cause a retreat.

I have never seen a necromancer.
I have never seen undead.
I have never seen a vampire.
I have never seen a were-creature.
I have never seen mounted creatures.

None of the FUN stuff ever wants to visit me

I often read people mentionning their invaders doing it, but in 40.x i simply never saw a single invader trying to climb or jump any of my walls, despite i always make on purpose a simple 1 tile high wooden wall, the invaders always wait being stuck outside as it had always been in past DF versions too.

My own dwarves in opposite are always very eager to climb and jump out of that wall unfortunately, often frustrating when they do that, or decide to climb a random building and get stuck on it unable to climb/jump down for some reason.

For the other things, in 40.x out of very weak and extremely rare goblin siege (unlike past version in which they were no joke), the one i saw more regularly are necromancer sieges, they usually come if you embarked in tower areas.

never saw a single mounted invaders in 40.x (unlike in past versions), but in the same time there had been so few goblins "army" (well if you can call those small squads "armies") invading that maybe it was just bad luck and not a bug ?

I have never seen the HFS.

I *have* seen goblins riding animals during sieges, but not since .40.x   

I have never seen an inside waterfall that wasn't a ravenous dwarf-devouring monster.

I have never been able to accomplish anything with mine carts, useful or otherwise.

I have never seen an angel, or anything made of the special metals.
