I have played a lot of Dwarf Fortress, for years.

I've never seen a dwarf actually mine candy (The three times I've found the stuff, it was inaccessible in the middle of lava, and I didn't see the point).
I've never seen the Circus.
I've never seen a dragon.
I've never seen a king.

I have seen mounted goblins: They were mounted on aquatic creatures and drowned in the water my fort was next to. It was a well known bug at the time.

I don't believe I've ever had elephants show up in my games, so I've probably never lost any dwarves to their unforgiving, unforgetting rage.

I've never seen a dwarf climb up or down anything. I've seen a marksman walk from a ledge across some branches for a better vantage point, and he gained Climbing experience for it, but I've never seen a dwarf attempt to climb up anything other than a stepladder. Not to save themselves when they're marooned by their own digging or building, not to fetch their damn arrows out of the tree, not to perform any job.

Ive never seen a wild vampire that wasnt naked.

I have never seen a spider/spiderman (yet webs are everywhere)

I by Armok have never seen an incredible construct.
I have never seen a fort that had an interesting design (man or proc gen)
I have never seen through blind eyes.

Ill never see why people dont play this game
I've never seen the iron pigs people always talk about.
I have never seen a funnier sight than decapitating an elven princess and throwing her head in a volcano and saying goodbye.
I have never seen the source code.
I have never seen my kids flee from a fight.
I think thats it. Execpt most the animals that I run past

I have played this game for many years but

- not a single stepladder (!!! how is this possible, I don't know... embark menu doesn't show one)
- no dragons
- no magma-forges (and only my latest fort has a volcano so finally this...is...MAGMAAAA)
- no "candy"
- no "clowns"
- no chance of survival from tantrum spirals
- no sense of cover (I stare at you, marksdwarves, who jump from my walls to engage enemies in melee)
- not a single adventure mode character has been created
- not a single megaproject that I consider "epic"

You need to create a new 40.14+ world if you're playing on one from before that version.

Edit:
Never seen a hydra or GCS. Never built a beehive. Never advanced beyond a barony. Haven't experienced any of the new sites yet. Never seen an elephant fly (via minecart.)

I've never seen a roc/dragon/hydra outside of adventure mode

Nor have I seen mounted gobbos

nor have I seen a working pump stack in my fortresses because I'm too lazy to make them

Despite playing DF daily for years now, I have yet to see the 3rd cavern layer, magma, or HFS, and I have never used minecarts or power. Seen and done basically everything else in the game. Frame rate is always the limiting factor :/

I've been playing since DF2012, but I've been playing very casually and Fortresses rarely catch my attention for more than five Dwarven years.

I have never seen a tantrum spiral in action.
I have never seen a Dwarf warrior fight off a Goblin squad alone.
I have never seen a Fortress with a giant animal army.
I have never seen the ocean floor.
I have never seen a full-time Dwarf doctor.
I have never seen a tame cage-trapped animal.
I have never seen a minecart.

I've never seen a husking mist. Or a husk.
I've never seen dwarven blood rain, but I have seen elven blood rain.
I've never seen a biome where those unicorns live. I've never embarked on one. I don't even know what they are called!
I've never seen a civilization wreck a tower and cause it to no longer send zombies, before today. Maybe we killed all the necromancers.
I've never explored any buildings a goblin civilization has built. I almost never play adventure mode. I'm probably missing a lot.
I've never seen booze explode before. I may have to go dump some in lava for the fun of it.
I've never seen a minecart and rail setup used for it's intended purpose, to haul ore and rocks that is. Usually just lava, lots and lots of !!MAGMA!!.
I've never made anything out of wax, and I have never made an extract. But I have played with just about all the rest of the game mechanics more or less. Never did get wales or sharks to breed though. And I'm still considering making some sort of dwarven computer.
And I've never seen a farm grow crops in an ocean biome... Nothing grows there.
But finding an adamantine sword in an ancient ruins? Awesome! I love it when that happens!
And everyone should play chess with the clowns, at least once.

I've never seen a tantrum spiral that wasn't preempted by a much more terminal crisis.
I've never seen a vampire in a dwarf fortress, and not in any dwarven settlement even in adventurer mode. And this is a world and history seed where vampires always outnumber mortals in every DF version.
I've never seen an adamantine artifact. Some that were adorned with it, but none that used it as a base, nor any weapons with it.

I have never seen a Roc attack a fort.
I have never seen a time when Giant Sponges are beasts to be ridden into war with. (I have seen Cave Dragons be ridden to war, they later turned into patties thanks to Spinning Blades x 10 and a 30 depth drop onto spikes.).
I have never seen Elves win when attacking... ever.
