Just an update on the situation with the next world.

Here are the parameters if someone wants to give it a shot, or just mess around with it. I did increase the embark points and lowered the layers between caverns and surface to just 10, but kept the layers above ground at 15 cause I've heard it causes lag. Can always add it in later with the infinitesky plugin from DFhack.

It does reject on average every 3000 worlds or so, but far less than it used to. I've genned about 6 worlds with fairly interesting sites at the moment. None are perfect though as is usually the case. I'll try to do up to ten worlds then narrow it down to 5 sites for voting. Have not spotted the volcano in the desert yet or the one that I am aiming at, which is a desert/ grassland/ haunted lake biome with access to iron, sand, clay, flux, no aquifers and towers. But I should have something up for voting by tomorrow.

4 biomes, a tower for a neighbour and war with the tree huggers. What else could a dwarf want? Besides more magma of course. Do note that the scant traces of iron on the map are located under the singular aquifer tile biome.

Has a decent amount of metal ores to go around, except for platinum (6k iron ore). Even has a 1 tile aquifer at the top of the embark for water shenanigans. Pretty tame site all around, that is until you notice whom else you have for neighbors.

The question is, with 3 different terrifying biomes, do you feel lucky enough that we aren't going to get something that straight up kills or debilitates all the dwarves? Do note that if you select another dwarf civilization than the one depicted here, you can get war with the elves from the get go as well. Also, decent amount of gold and iron deposits. Oh, so that's still not enough to entice you huh?

The good old newbie stand by. Water source? Check. Easy magma source? Check. Decent amount of all metal ores except platinum? Check. Kaolinite even? Check. Besides, did you even see how that volcano just juts straight out like its giving the rest of the landscape a middle finger?

The site does lack clay, but with that much iron ore, why not just make an iron keep instead?

My personal favorite, and really the one I'd genned all these worlds to get a shot at. Sure, the iron on site might be scarce since its not sedimentary, but it has everything else including that tower looming in the distance. Just imagine all the !!fun!! we could have with undead hippos and carp in the magma moat!

I shamelessly stole the layout and format from Bearskie from the Succession Tower. The sites are all permutations of the same desert, water source, clay, sand, flux and something else that is interesting formula. Technically, magma should not be an issue as there are only about 40 levels from the surface to the very bottom of the map (your mileage may vary). Once the poll is up, vote for whichever site you would like to embark on, and if you like more than one, then feel free to vote for those too.

I'm definitely torn between five and six. I like five for it's TERRIFYING biomes. But I like six more I think. I've always enjoyed Untamed Wilds more, plus MAGMA.

HOLY SHIT IT IS BEAUTIFUL
The smoky thing in the distance? That is the volcano. All 34 z-levels of glorious magma filled volcano. It is pillar shaped - meaning it tapers off gradually towards the top. MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I HAVE GENNED EVER. *TEARS OF JOY*

 Looks like there are plentiful amounts of undead wildlife, and dead almond trees scattered across the landscape. No husking clouds I can discern but that is because my entire expedition went crazy on an undead ibex mere minutes into play due to the overprotective dog defending our territory. Result? A named undead ibex, and my entire expedition has withered to its end before the first week has even passed. /facepalm

Despite what went down during testing, I will be voting for site 8. I'm not so sure definitely not ready for site 5...

Does anyone want the region save files for their own personal enjoyment? (Man, that sounds like I'm peddling some illicit wares) If so, I will zip them up and post them along with instructions for finding the sites I marked out on DFFD.
