Yeah, there's a reason that Bastion picks fell off after the initial launch. Multiple heroes can knock him out of sentry mode, Junkrat destroys him, Genji destroys him if he's not hyper-vigilant (and even then if the deflect comes from a group of people at medium-long range, he's free charge for Zarya, and anyone with decent ranged damage (as EH said) can corner-peek him faster than he can fire back.

Think the better Bastion players don't tend to sit in one single zone and fire, they tend to pickup after sentry and move to new locations.

Which changes precisely nothing against anyone with half a brain and decent reflexes.

I mean, the smart Bastion players have been shift-reloading and moving positions right from the start. He's the same niche pick you can run for one or two fights that he's always been, the only difference is that the broader playerbase has figured out how to deal with him, so the idiots that spam him can't get away with it and have thus moved on to different FotW.

I think Bastion gets a bit too much grief sometimes.  I honestly think he's great when the enemy team is tank-heavy, and even when he's not a turret he's still a 300 HP guy who can regenerate at will and has a pretty decent & accurate machine gun.

Oh, yeah, he's a great counter for a lot of things, it's just that he's also very easy to counter in turn. A good Bastion pick can win a match, but if you pull him you have to be ready to swap as soon as the other team counterpicks. That, or start getting really sneaky and going for flanking ambushes, which is difficult when you're slow.

Note: As with all heros whose ults provide them with increased offensive ability, Supercharged Tank Mode Bastion is quite something to see with 307.5 damage a shot with 8 of those to throw around.

Me and my friend got the two different colored Ice Climber Mei skins.  We did what we had to do.  Which is to say, we double picked Mei, infinitely walled off doorways, and spammed "sorry sorry sorry, sorry" whenever we froze anyone.  It was fucking glorious, and it actually worked most of the time.

Just had a 6-man Hollywood match where we were all Soldier 76 on attack. It was the greatest thing.

Whenever their Roadhog tried to hook one of us, we all focused fire on him and kill him before he shotgun blasts our comrade in the face. And then one of us put our heal areas down and he shift runs into the area and gets back into the firing line. Whenever we got flanked, 2 of us focused fire on the flanker and the rest kept the rotating line pushing the payload forward. We ended it by rotating our ultis at the spawn doors, killing squishys as soon as they appear and quickly wearing down any tanks.

Not to ruin your fun, but holy shit do I hate teams that do that shit. All [any character] teams are infuriating. Especially when your team is trying to do it.

The fact that an monoclass team is more powerful than the alternative is a problem of game design. Each additional player of the same type should have less incremental utility rather than more. The way you fix it is by giving players more synergies between heroes.

Monoclass teams ARE weaker tho.  The only ones that have any merit at all are self healing generalists like Roadhog and 76.  But since neither of those have any form of damage block, and they both have fairly weak ults that are easy to cancel, the solution is to just... shoot them.  Good luck finding a positioning for 6 roadhogs that doesn't cause the enemy Hanzo to ult every minute.

The other problem with monoclass teams is that inevitably half the team has no idea how to play the hero in question.
