Yes.  The puddles in King's Row also reflect different buildings.

If you do that, make sure to turn on headshots only. Takes a lot longer for you to die and it's better aim practice.

This is a great tip. Will try it out when I get back home from work.

The thing I don't like is how all the maps are Generic Future City, with a couple cultural buildings thrown in theme-park style so you know where you are.  Globalism, everybody.

Generic? Really? The only generic future city is Numbani (and Lijiang maybe), which doesn't seem to be grounded in any real culture despite being allegedly in Africa. I've found the maps to have a lot of personality.

Here's hoping for a Buenos Aires map! The city appears on the Numbani airport arrivals/departures screen in one of the starting areas. :P

Looking into the game's system requirements. (If I were to get a new computer soon I'd like to be able to play the game on it.)

I noticed the only OS it runs on currently is Windows, and I don't plan on using Windows 8 or 10, but Windows 7 is gonna lose its Microsoft support in a couple years. I was figuring I'd switch to using a Linux variant. Anyone know if Overwatch can run in WINE?

I dunno what's different from playing CS:S, TF2, Killing Floor, and whatever else, but for some reason I'm having a lot more difficulty clicking on heads in OW. Almost frustratingly so. Practice practice practice.

Tickrate of 20hz vs ~60hz is a BIG difference.

I just googled that.  So that's why my charges, reflects, and ice cocoons keep starting and then getting canceled.  Hopefully they deal with that...

Oh. Right. I'd almost managed to forget about that.

And then I'm reminded, naturally, by seeing a killcam where the McCree I flashbanged didn't see mine at all.

There's also a lot of situations I've seen where I'll, for example, be stuck by Tracer as Reinhardt.  And then attempt to put my shield in between myself and my allies, only upon watching the killcam I never brought my shield up in the first place.

Your hardware bottlenecks in gaming are internet, input device, graphics card, cpu, and RAM, in order. Better hardware is always better, but the refresh rate of the monitor isn't as large of a deal as some people make it out to be.

Honestly, one of the best things you can do is make sure your mouse is set up properly, and find a sensitivity level that works for you. I'm at about 550dpi, but some snipers run as high as 900.

Tickrate of 20hz vs ~60hz is a BIG difference.

That's really is embarrassingly low. TF2's 66 tickrate is also too low in my opinion, and TF2 is of course known for dubious interpolation and lag compensation. Their original plans for a fixed painfully-low FoV and the FPS cap had already made me wonder whether Blizzard was capable of making a serious competitive FPS, but if this isn't changed, I'd say it's doomed. Not really doomed, of course, because people will play anything made by blizzard, but you know what I mean. TF2 has survived with 90 FoV and a mediocre tickrate, but a 20 tickrate is bad enough that it could actually drive people away.

At least on the engine side of things, their inexperience is really showing, between this and the mouse acceleration.

I'm surprised the low tickrate wasn't discussed/fixed during the alpha or beta of the game. 20hz vs 60hz seems huuuuuge. The whole point of playtesting is finding gameplay issues that the devs overlooked, right?

This is Blizzard's first FPS game, isn't it? I can't recall any past Blizz FPS titles, all their past games are all clickfests like Diablo or Starcraft or Warcraft.

It is the first one they released. They were supposed to release starcraft: ghost, but canned it. Am unsure if there is any sort of playable stuff floating around for ghost.

You can actually play custom games with up to 60hz but it doesn't work for most people, apparently there were some technological issues they're still working on.

Still bad, still dying to hanzo's basketball arrows.

Yeah, that's the primary thing I see killing it in the professional circuit. Still an amazing game to play casually either way, and hopefully they've got enough sense to fix it.
