In YAK 1, what eventually happened with that female alchemist and d'Avistral? I stopped reading after the bit where he killed the second Trubaldsome brother right after the death of the first Trubaldsome brother.

The alchemist, no-one knows. As for D'avistral, well he's the black shadow of Elbreth and he got away to live another day. :P

Um, I just wanted to ask what is happening in the IC thread? Can someone tell me who's with the rebellion and who's a monarch?

Preston currently controls Elbreth and other countries. Iituem's character is the royal pretender to the throne of Elbreth and is currently leading a rebellion for an independent Elbreth. All the current players are in the service of the rebellion for one reason for another and with varying levels of loyalty to it.

Ok, so I know that this wouldn't work for a multitude of reasons, but is it theoretically possible to settle battles using Napoleon: Total War?

Out of curiosity, please elaborate.

Two Artillery Batteries, 5 Regiments of Pike, 4 Regiments of Militia, 5 Regiments of well-disciplined Line Infantry and finally 3 Regiments of various Elberethian Minor Nobility forming what was supposed to be Dragoons.
Using Great Britain and discounting the pikemen and assuming the militia are armed with muskets, this could be represented by 2 units of 9-lber Foot Artillery, 4 units of Fencibles, 5 units of Foot, and 3 units of Dragoons.

We have a battle system worked out, which is much handier for GMs to use and for players to review. Besides, we are planning on using steampunk units in the future and those cannot be meaningfully presented by NTP.

I had such an idea several times  before Andres (albeit with Medieval II), it is good but has several severe problems.

First and foremost not half of the players have Napoleon: Total War.
Secondly representing characters on the field is impossible.

The system has been developed towards towards the rules we have developed for that,
Using the game would cause considerable change in game mechanics -which would require a different game altogether. To be quite honest i would be in for something like that but not for this Yak-Game here, you'd have to develop a different game.

Going to set up a character sheet in case someone dies or leaves.

Name: Jules Vermin
Description: A sharply dressed man in his early twenties. He has short black hair and brown eyes and a short height at 5'3. He is rather skinny though from his travels and usually smells of smoke.
Background: A common born who some could argue was born in the middle class of society back in his home of Prestons capital. His father was a professor of history and political science while his mother was a for profit scientist in the university that they met. Because of the nepotism and money the family had Jules was admired to the university at 16, which is rather young. However, his genius came to light almost immediately and he was recognized by many intellectuals at the university as well as the countries merchant leadership.

His fame comes from two things: First his theory of a great society needing an abundance of road networks that connect any town or village to any part of the country. These roads must especially lead also to the capital he goes on. To this end he has helped set up countless road networks (with the help of several merchants and his fathers contacts). The roads are also tolled by his friends who give him a genours sum in return for his vision and efforts in creating his master piece.

The second thing he is known for are his "Steam Cars". A public transportation he claims can move supplies and people a far distance, quickly, and efficiently. Although revered by many as a genius some believe he expects too much in the realm of realism and starting investments. As such he has moved to Elberth and has organized an association of merchants, business owners, and a labor guild to create his steam cars from the capital of Elberth to the capital of Preston. He calls his organization "The Steam Entrepreneur Union".

Personality: Jules is very much an extroverted figure with alot of energy to him. His mind and body are always one and he is known to never go a moment not doing anything useful to his visions of a world with his inventions. However, his greatness stops their. Personally the man is a wreck because of his inability to find someone to love. Jules through his popularity has had many offers but they have all wanted him for money, fame, or personal gratification. All of which has made him question if he is any better than societies across the world. He drinks often in secret to avoid these thoughts and is known to only solicit women who he knows he can win over, which adds to his grief.

The secret though is more or less safe with only Jules and his parents knowing. Something he keeps secret to avoid a negative perception of himself.

Organization: The Steam Entrepenuers Union or SEU.

Good one 3man75, although I'm worried that your character seems to be a bit focused on a single thing. Maybe a tad too much.

Damn, was hoping we could leave some spies unmolested to send false messages.  Still, that option isn't completely eliminated...

Deny, will post some orders for your men once you've informed Erika of what's going on.  How do you feel about a little creative misdirection?  :)

My bad, I should have wrote 5+1. Its still an overshoot though, but I'll moderate everything for sake of storytelling, I won't drop any rocks on anyone unless you folks will ask me to crank up the difficulty.

Ok. I'm glad overshoots aren't completely ridiculous. Moderating for storytelling seems pretty solid.
