Destroy incoming hostiles.
Locate point of origin and wipe it off the map, very publicly.
Identify the authorizing splinter government and eliminate it.

Accept all governments which have surrendered. Allow those who are currying favor to process their situation, and all threatening retaliation ... be sure they receive video feed of the incoming hostiles, their elimination, the elimination of their base, the elimination of their government., and for good measure, the elimination of the Federation fleet. In fact, broadcast that last one to the whole populace, along with any sort of positive image building snippets, such as safe relocation of our collaborators. Along with something nice about how we will always protect our citizens or something like that.

And you guys thought I was being too harsh :P

I disagree on proactive hostile elimination.

Let the people plot- it gives them something to do.  If they attack, sure, swift and brutal reprisal; clearly we know where these threats are located.  Eventually they'll see that they're safe as long as they don't actually do anything.  Let's not be thought police here.

To be fair, Chell has thus far demonstrated an almost pathological disregard for human life with some very specific exceptions. She ordered the wholesale annihilation of a fleet which couldn't possibly harm the Sicily, had the entire crew of a captured ship spaced and the ship destroyed, and then mandated that the people on the planet's surface not be harmed 'more than necessary'. Her decisions have been somewhat erratic.

This is in line with standard Dynasty doctrine.

-----

Delta Six reports they have engaged the enemy. Tactical reports suggest that the hostiles are massively outclassed.

Delta Five and Delta Four report that Citizens have been relocated peacefully along with all designated belongings. A safe shelter has been constructed just outside of designated safe limits for landing zone. These Citizens will eventually need relocation to a more distant point before planetary relocation can commence.

Delta Three designated, 11 heavy-lift transporters capable of moving the entire population of Citizens. Delta Five will assist in preparing Delta Three for relocation of Citizens

Delta Four has begun reinforcing the landing site. Delta Four has been increased to 103 construction/maintenance units and has begun laying down a layer of armored paving material suitable for absorbing the weight of the Sicily.

Delta Six reports all hostiles destroyed.

We have the capability of launching a long range strategic strike on the airfields involved in this hostile action. Possibility of civilian casualties is minimal.

Proceed? Y/N

No need to. We don't care enough about those measly people to do anything but swat their pathetic attempt out of the sky.

I suggest we notify Chell if she isn't aware already that her gender reassertion may be affecting her emotionally, and suggest that she use caution in that regard.

we may want to include information on the reassertion process to back up our claim.

A retaliatory strike against the airfield would go a long way toward demonstrating our resolve in terms of our position as THE authority on this planet. We can offer that they stand down and surrender instead, but examples should be made. This too, is in line with Dynasty procedure. In fact, when Chell declared that the planet was not to be harmed culturally, she also acknowledged the likely need for examples. This isn't a proactive attack - it's reactive. We are reacting to the hostile assault they launched.

True, they are of no threat to Sicily, Hull 101, the parasite warships, or much else we have, any more than literally anything we have engaged to date has been. But, our terms were made clear, and they chose the path of war.

Hmph.  Can we destroy the airstrip itself only?  An example strike of "don't even bother; we could kill all of you if we wanted to"

PsyOps & Diplomacy Core Sheb Online

> What Chell doesn't seem to realize is that strength alone won't pacify this planet. There will always be a lot of people who prefer dying free rather than living in perceived slavery.

> While our physical assets are safe, terrorist movements could interfere with the local government and the production of export food. What if terrorist poison our exports for example?

> We advice against any operation that would pause even a low risk to civilian unless there is a compelling reason. Plus, destroying that airstrip would send the message that we care about potential attacks.

> We also advice bringing the loyal governments head on board to swear allegiance to Chell and then to start working on the Dinasty government.

You know, what happened to the whole don't give them the impression that it is "join us or die". At least making them think they have a choice would have made things significantly better. Ah well, too late for that, give them this speech.

Dear citizens of the New dynasty

We are very sorry that relationships between us has gone so poorly. I understand that you guys want your freedom and the truth is, you guys do have freedom. We don't ask too much from you, just a bit of food to feed any starving planets in a different sector of the galaxy. Other than that, you guys are free to do whatever you want. Except space travel of course, yeah... sorry about that. In a few years from now we will hopefully be able to prove to you guys that we are much better rulers than your FWA oppressors ever were. Just have patience.

Have us say the speech, not Chell. I think they would find it dishonest if they heard these words from chell who was proposing the whole Join or die doctrine. Based on our conversation with the captain, we sound human enough.

Asymmetrical warfare advisor Nullius online in full cognition mode:

Assertion: Our intent is the conversion of Iagh into a fully functional capital world for the empress
Assertion: While the local forces represent no meaningful threat to Sicily they can and eventually will resort to attacks on the civilian populace that agrees to join the dynasty, this would be in direct opposition to our intent

Recommendation: retribution must be swift and effective, target local military infrastructure and neutralize with rapid drone insertion for minimal casualties and maximum impact
