Reminder since this is not obvious: You can invoke your aspect AFTER making a roll. The nice thing about this is that it means if you fail an action by a few margins, you might be able to turn it to a tie or even a success by spending a fate point, and if you succeed on an action by 1 point, you can turn it into a success with style.

Of course this may cause some causality weirdness if I have to rearrange events, so while I don't mind having to do that, I will do a rapid GM post for every action in situations that would call for the team to open up the flask of whoop-rump.

Conflicts are already going to be handled this way, so yeah, don't be shy about invoking aspects against bosses.

Also, can someone who's actually explored FL a bit more give me a heads-up on what soullessness means?
I've read all of the 'have another biscuit' stuff, but I don't want to go way off the rails trying to figure out how I should be acting.

Soullessness depends on the person. Generally they either don't change much or they become depressed.
