Sorry, that one is actually Giselle Krauss, I forgot to update the roster with her. Both German girls are now claimed, I'm afraid.

Anyone else look good to you?

One of these two please. Probably the Nigerian, to make up for us getting the wrong country... Also my previous character had high starting aim...

And a question that I can't find from the wiki: Which HEAT perk affects the Collateral Damage perk?
I'm...honestly not sure.
Kinda late, but unless they've changed it from b14 I'm almost 100% sure it's HEAT Ammo.

@i2amroy: No male Egyptians, see someone else you want?
What, you mean I have to come up with some new horribly cliched soldier?!? :P

I'll take:
F   Private   Ireland   Medium  Medium  5  Low  High   Alive

Will post the exact name/look combination later today when I get a chance to mess around in the character editor.

@Jim Groovester: Wasn't able to remake quite the same person. Preference on which soldier to take now?

Eh just give me any old dude then and then I'll see what I can make from their stats.

Spoiler: Updated Roster (click to show/hide)

Ok, that's pretty much everyone now.

Tiruin, Burnt Pies, Nidilap, and tryrar, I don't have anyone with the nationalities you want left (or were suitable for your soldier). You can grab someone out of the what's left in the roster or you can wait for me to get some more soldiers in.

crazysheep, do you want me to build a Shiv for you? Won't be right away, but I can do that if you prefer. Or you can claim a Pilot again.

Everyone - If you want changes to your soldier, just let me know what you want done.

And with all that out of the way, let's start the game, shall we?

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

[/hr]

I thought for sure I was a goner.

We had just finished a successful mission against an alien Abduction vessel that had landed. Captured the thing virtually intact! And then the aliens struck back.

They did something new.

It was a giant...explosion of what I can only assume was psychic energy. It seems to have ripped me into some sort of parallel universe. I woke up in my bed, the day when the summons of the Council first came. When I was first called to be the Commander of X-COM.

And called I was. It was the same...almost. But so many little things are different this time. I can only wonder what it all heralds.

Our base is in Asia this time, rather than Africa. Australia is providing our initial primary funding, as well as some excellent troop training.

As before, there was Bradford with a briefing on the first mission. All sectoids, as expected, and an easy enough victory for the troops. They even captured some Meld!

The world situation is pretty stable. Panic is a bit high in Mexico and Brazil, but otherwise well under control.

Vahlen, of course, wishes to know what we shall focus our research on first

And the base layout is a bit different, as you'd expect. Nice to have a nearby Steam Vent, although it'll mess with the Satellite Uplink block a bit.

I also toured the Barracks and spoke with the soldiers. So many familiar faces, but many new ones as well. I can only wonder at the different threads of their past that either led them here again, or didn't. None of them seem to remember that other world.

What is real? It must have been. How else could I know so many of these people who I have never met before in my life? I remember sending them out, watching them fight, promoting them. Watching some of them die.

I can only hope that with all the changes around me I can use my experience to do better.

ALIEN MATERIALS

Let's get us some early air superiority!

Also, I think instead of going with Will to Survive, I'll take Repair and occasionally bring an Arc Thrower with me (especially if I'm being deployed alongside either a MEC or SHIV).

I hear Xenobio first isn't the way to go any more, so I'll go ahead and throw a vote at Alien Materials. FUGGIT XENOBIO ALL DAY ERRY DAY

Can't wait for Portent to roll around so you can try to get me killed!

Also, go ahead and put me down for Sapper first pick, not that you'll need that for a while.  I'll have to think about the changed perk tree.

EDIT:  UI, you and I are going places.

Notice how Alien Materials is in red? That means that we can't do it right now. :P

I say start researching Xenobiology.
