[If it weren't for the fact that doing so would render more of the fallout airborne, I'd say that's a good idea. I'll let you figure it out with the other players in-character, shall I?]

Heiterverzweiflung. Not a legit German word so much as something a friend and I made up in German class once. "Carefree despair". When life is so fucked that you can't stop laughing.

<<The fallout from a single nuclear blast can wrap all the way around the world. You'd have to go far enough to not have any fallout on the ground at all which is very difficult.>>

(Nah, this was pretty low yield, most of the shit from it landed within fifteen klicks or so. It is worth noting that any kind of powered transport vehicle is months out, even if others help Gwolf.)

[I mean, Gwolfski is literally writing the best book possible on steam power, your steam tech will be good, it's just that you'll have to give the thing to some engineers and let them spend a while figuring out how to actually use any of it, plus there's the issue of the fuel you already have problems with.]

[If you want to go electrical, you'll need more than lead-acid. That shit's heavy, not good for vehicles.]

<<The lithium-ion stuff we currently have IRL works decently well, as they're relatively light-weight, have a decent battery-life and a relatively fast charge time, but there's still a lot of problems with them.>>

[Plus you don't have any lithium, and don't know where to get any. :V]

<<If wikipedia is to be trusted, we'd need a geothermal vent and some basic filtration supplies to begin collecting lithium. Or we can wait around a year and a half to two years to extract it from salt water brine, but for that we would need to be near the ocean, and I'm fairly certain we're not too close to any oceans.>>

Devise powerful transformers designed to handle the electricity and convert it to a more usable voltage, a nice 120V, 60hz current, then make smaller ones to make 0hz 12 and 5 volt currents for the more delicate coils of relays, afterwords, assist the tech lab in the construction of plenty of relays (a steady supply is best case)
