"So the tech here is extremely sporadic, I see no problem with that. I do have a rather extensive book with me, that I wrote, with a good deal of information on science from earth, essentially everything I remember. Most of this is fairly useless at this time, but I do know enough of the mathematics of optics to make telescopes, mirrors, parabolic reflecting dishes, and such. If the hydro dam is completed, I could probably develop basic radio systems fairly easily. In the meantime, however, could you point me to a place I can start working on making some spyglasses?"

To Porkins, "All I know of what is going on here is what I have been told just now, and what I observed coming to the gate, which was mostly evidence of powerful explosives applied to attackers. Oh, and my name is Elagn, not Mr Mystery."

"Your in the same boat as me then. If i were you, id run to the merchants before they get packing. They might have some glassware and other sciency things. Otherwise your going to have to share Gwolfs."

"I've got a workshop with some tools and reasonably good lighting, if you want to use parts of it, feel free. If you want someplace private, pick a room nobody's using, we've got no shortage of space."

"Radio could be neat. Do what you will."
