How far down from the main fortress is available water in the caverns? An actual pump would be easy to construct, and would be far more efficient than a pump stack, as well as being less costly to construct?

Oh, and keep working on interior fortress repairs and strengthening.

[You know that it's possible, and how to do it, but you don't currently have any operational model of the technology, and will likely need to spend a little time figuring out how to get any directly Homelander machine working in this environment.]
