The dam crew file under Skalewyrm, a mad song continuing to echo around them. The elevator seems inadvisable, so they take the stairs. A long walk.

One of the goblin warriors suggests that the Priest is out scrying, searching the near void for information or aftereffects from these strange events of the last few hours. With help from Murdoc, he settles the old goblin's unresponsive form into a sitting position in a nearby tent.

Chaotic Skies briefly attempts to conjure a banana through sheer willpower. Somewhat surprisingly, it works, leaving him holding an example of the odd yellow fruit.

The unusual plant appears to be slowing down, the fruiting stalk splitting a few more times, and then settling down to grow flower buds. No further rampant, mutagenic growth is apparent.

In the distance, another column of dwarves is visible coming around the mountain.

You use your more esoteric senses to scan the unusual plant. It appears to be actively draining the geothaum to a considerable degree, and based upon the fact that the very air is no longer fluorescing subtly with arcane power, has been doing so for its entire growth. The drain is visibly slowing, like its physical growth, but the plant itself is definitely magically active, independent of the geothaum.

Get up to and check on the fortress proper, report the reappearance of the Skalewyrm, and it's message.

[You haven't changed much past waking up. Still conscious, technically mobile if you don't mind making things rapidly and unpredictably worse, and in- minor so long as you're on improvised local opiates -pain. Specific injuries not fully diagnosed, but include broken ribs.]

The banana, having been set down carefully on a nearby folding stool, disappears in a puff of logic, which attempts to argue the Unified Orchard Theory before dissipating.
