((I was thinking defenses, not the actual power.))

[A couple weapons, maybe. There still really isn't that much energy to use. You could totally run magic off of mundane energy, by the by.]

Heiterverzweiflung. Not a legit German word so much as something a friend and I made up in German class once. "Carefree despair". When life is so fucked that you can't stop laughing.

[It would be incredibly easy to make it run off magitech, with onboard electrolytes, motors, all that great stuff. Slight power issue, though.]
(solar panels, germanium is all we need)

[Solar panels are slow, and don't work well in poor weather. On the other hand, Germanium is apparently present in standard ores, like Sphalerite, so you should be able to get it easily enough if you know how to get it out.]

<<Also, the gas from electolizing water can be explosive. Put it in a metal canister, add a fuse, boom, granade. Literally.>>

[Feel free to explain when you do it.]

[Additionally, the limelight and blowtorch you developed run off electrolyzed gas.]

<<Yes, but the combination of gas made when electolyzing water specifically is very explosive, akthough you need a catalyst mixed in with the water so the electricity flows properly. It's rather impressive, actually. Here's a link to an example.>>

[Here's some stuff I found for an oxyhydrogen torch, nitroglycerine, the active ingredient in dynamite, and some rednecks with a very small amount of dynamite itself.]

"For the gasses from electrolytic water, I will keep them separate as much as dwarvenly possible, and keep them from fire. Also, as a catalyst to electricity in water, a pinch of ordinary salt will do"

[On the one hand, this is a medieval setting and salt is likely fairly expensive. On the other, the Mountainhome very much wants you guys to do what you're doing, so asking for salt will get you salt.]

"I don't mean much salt, literally a pinch, it doesn't even need to be pure, some sweat would probably do it, it just needs to be enough to ionize the water a little, and it would not be destroyed in catalyzing this process, so it could be used over and over"
