Elagn is able to use some of the fort's quite limited mercury supply to create a thermometer, and marks it according to the phase-changes of water.

One of the serfs proves to be of Homelander stock, and claims the name "Azywing".

Mayor Murdoc is able to upgrade the gate defenses with repeating spikes. For now there's no good way of powering them, but they're there, and rigged to a simple gear transmission, easily powered by most anything.

He also takes a group of the serfs' miners, along with one of the settler Foremen, to begin exploratory mining below the first Cavern Level.

A series of basic tests determines several things about the entity in your circle. It is clearly local to this multiversal region. It is clearly possessed by something from outside said region. It is clearly not the dwarf it appears to be, but some kind of demon, though the possessing entity is less clear.
