{So, in electrical applications, a transformer changes the voltage of a current. It doesn't change the amount of energy in the current, just how that energy is applied. Using the same terminology for magic presumably does the same. While you can totally do it, I'm not sure how it'll help you as much as, say, helping build a hydroelectric dam.}

{I don't believe so, Fish. Higher-voltage transmission lines usually have more energy, because they're doing it to transmit more power more efficiently, but changing the voltage of a set amount of energy doesn't give you more energy from nowhere.}
